Determining the Production Possibility Set for Ratio Data: A Novel Hybrid DEA-R Approach
2023In some organizations, performance evaluation is measured using ratios such as the ratio of outputs to inputs or vice versa (leverage ratio and quick ratio). While a handful of papers have been published on the DEA-R research stream, thus far the role of each input in terms of the production of each output has been neglected.

Measuring productivity change in DEA-R: A ratio-based profit efficiency model
Journal of the Operational Research Society, 2019AbstractThe main purpose of the present study is to evaluate the productivity change of decision making units (DMUs) over time based on ratio data envelopment analysis (DEA-R).

Finding a Suitable Benchmark in DEA-R
2015Abstract.In this paper, it is tried to suggest an appropriate model for inefficient units when the data are relative using DEA-R models. In an organization, taking manager’s decision into account, reducing the number of ratios, setting priorities to reduce some of ratios in order to find a suitable model and implementing these ideas on mathematical ...

Exploration of efficiency underestimation of CCR model: Based on medical sectors with DEA-R model
Expert Systems with Applications, 2011Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is one of the best-known efficiency evaluation methods due to its advantages in selection of weights. Many research papers have extensively discussed the issue of weight restrictions, rather than those implied in the model itself.

In this chapter, first the inputs and outputs of the supply chain are divided based on sustainability factors. Then, the environmental, social and economic efficiency scores are calculated. In addition, in the evaluation of a supply chain, the multiplier form of DEA-R model in an output-orientation is utilized.

Using the DEA-R model in the hospital industry to study the pseudo-inefficiency problem
Expert Systems with Applications, 2011Because of the unreasonable and unnecessary weight restriction assumption, a barely noticeable deficiency in pseudo-inefficiency occurs at times when applying a CCR model. The CCR was the first model designed for Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA); it remains its most popular model.

Predict of financial distress by logistic regression, DEA-R and CAMELS indicators
Summary: It is very important to choose an appropriate and efficient monitoring system to evaluate the performance of bank's financial distress, including the most important monitoring systems that have been proposed to evaluate the performance of bank's financial distress; The use of Camels monitoring system, which includes six indicators of capital ...Shafiee, Morteza +2 more

The weight is one of the main issues of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), and relevant theoretical research indicates that many DEA mathematical models include redundant restraints on weight, resulting in underestimated efficiency, pseudo inefficiency, and difficulty in representing specific Input/Output relationships.

Journal of Productivity Analysis, 2007
We propose a new mathematical model for efficiency analysis, which combines DEA methodology with an old idea-Ratio Analysis. Our model, called DEA-R, treats all possible ratios "output/input" as outputs within the standard DEA model. Although DEA and DEA-R generate different summary measures for efficiency, the two measures are comparable.
