Fixed order scheduling with deadlines
This paper studies a scheduling problem in a parallel machine setting, where each machine must adhere to a predetermined fixed order for processing the jobs. Given $n$ jobs, each with processing times and deadlines, we aim to minimize the number of machines while ensuring deadlines are met and the fixed order is maintained.

Deadline Miss Rate Scheduling in DAG Considering Probabilistic Execution Time
Autonomous driving systems have been extensively researched for safety. To ensure safety, a strict deadline is enforced before sensor data influences vehicle control. A common approach to this issue is Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) scheduling.

Ban Glyphosate—Does It Affect the Swedish Farmers' Willingness to Grow Cover Crops?
ABSTRACT The cultivation of cover crops is one of the new Eco‐scheme practices introduced in Sweden. This study examines how the design of policy attributes of these schemes influences farmers' willingness to grow cover crops on arable land, with particular focus on the potential impact of a glyphosate ban.

Lightweight EDF scheduling with deadline inheritance [PDF]
EDFI is a lightweight real-time scheduling protocol that combines EDF with deadline inheritance over shared resources. We will show that EDFI is flexible during a tasks admission control, efficient with scheduling and dispatching, and straightforward in ...

The Biofuels Blueprint: Understanding the U.S. Renewable Fuel Standard
ABSTRACT We provide a comprehensive review of the U.S. Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), synthesizing nearly two decades of program evolution, market outcomes, and economic analysis. The RFS mandates minimum volumes of renewable fuel blending through a nested structure based on life‐cycle greenhouse gas reductions, enforced via tradeable Renewable ...
