Foreign atom doping is known to not only modify the electronic structure but also improve the intrinsic activity of catalysts. Herein, we fabricate three-dimensional (3D) self-supporting nanoporous cobalt–aluminum intermetallic (np-Co(Al)) through ...

Characterization of Dealloyed Catalysts in PEMFC
ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2014Pt-alloy catalysts have attracted much attention because of their high activity for the oxygen reduction reaction compared to that of pure Pt catalysts. One variant of the Pt-alloy catalyst is the “dealloyed catalyst” made by first preparing an alloy precursor with a high base-metal-to-Pt ratio (≥1:1) and then removing most of the base metal, resulting

Fabrication of nanoporous Ni and NiO via a dealloying strategy for water oxidation catalysis
Journal of Energy Chemistry, 2020Nickel oxides and (oxy)hydroxides are promising replacements for noble-metal-based catalysts owing to their high activity and good long-term stability for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER).

Dealloying Shows the Way to New Catalysts
ChemSusChem, 2010The preparation of highly effective catalysts by dealloying Au–Ag alloys was recently reported, and is discussed in this Highlight. The nanoporous gold catalysts are highly effective for the gas-phase oxidative coupling of methanol to form methyl formate under mild reaction conditions; the reaction is shown to proceed through a formate intermediate.

Dealloying of Cupronickels in Stagnant Seawater
CORROSION 1999, 1999Abstract This report discusses the dealloying (denickelification) of 70-30 cupronickel (UNS C 71500) heat exchanger tubing in stagnant seawater. Heat exchanger tubing from a naval vessel exposed to stagnant seawater was examined.

Pattern formation during dealloying
Scripta Materialia, 2003Abstract Dealloying is a process during which an element is selectively dissolved from an alloy. If the starting material is single phase and within certain compositional limits dealloying results in the formation of bicontinuous structures on nanometer length scales. We introduce the topic of dealloying and discuss its phenomenology.
