The aim of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of UV-C treatment using a modified UV-C reactor based on Dean vortex flow. Parameters taken into account were total aerobic bacteria count and yeast and mould counts, antioxidant capacity, total phenolic content, 5-HMF content, furan formation and sensory attributes.

Formulation of Peptide‐Based Nanoparticles Using a Microfluidic Device
A case study using the TAMARA microfluidic device (Inside Therapeutics) was performed for peptide‐based nanoparticles under different operational parameters such as mixing channel geometry, total flow rate, and flow rate ratio. In this context, WRAP5 cell‐penetrating peptide‐based nanoparticles for siRNA or pDNA delivery demonstrated enhanced ...

Abstract Autism Bases, as part of Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) resourced provisions (RP), offer a hybrid model of inclusive education, combining specialist support with access to mainstream classrooms. While such provisions are widespread, few studies capture the voices of autistic pupils navigating these dual settings.

The Role of Infragravity Waves in Near-Bed Cross-Shore Sediment Flux in the Breaker Zone
Results from a series of field experiments, conducted to investigate the influence of infragravity waves (from wave groups), ripple type and location relative to the breaker line on cross-shore suspended sediment flux close to the sea bed in nearshore ...

A laboratory-scale ultraviolet (UV-C) reactor based on Dean vortex technology was designed and tested for its capability to inactivate microorganisms in apple and red grape juices in relatively low doses of UV-C. Experiments were carried out with freshly squeezed apple juice (AJ) and freshly squeezed grape juice (GJ) inoculated with Lactobacillus ...
