Interfacial debonding in single fibre-composite with a cracked matrix - Part 1: Debonding during cooling

open access: yes, 1999
A calculation method to obtain an approximate estimate of interfacial debonding during cooling caused by the difference in thermal expansion between the fibre and matrix was presented using a single fibre-composite model.

Experimental Study on the Lateral Response of Large‐Scale Unbonded Steel‐Mesh‐Reinforced Rubber Bearings

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Conventional unbonded elastomeric bearings (ULNRs) are cost‐effective but prone to sliding during earthquakes due to their limited shear deformability. Unbonded Steel‐Mesh‐Reinforced Rubber Bearings (USRBs) offer a solution with increased deformation capacity.

Multiscale descriptor-based framework for predicting on-demand debonding in silane-modified polyether interfaces

open access: yesMaterials & Design
Silane-modified polyethers (SMPs) are widely used as adhesives and sealants; however, their permanent adhesion complicates repair, reuse, and recycling of adherend materials at the end of service life. In this research, on-demand debonding in SMP systems

Influence of the Magnetization of Thermally Expandable Particles on the Thermal and Debonding Properties of Bonding Joints

open access: yesInorganics
This study addresses the challenge of recycling adhesive bonds, as their disassembly is irreversible and damages the substrates. It explores the use of thermally expandable particles (TEPs), which, when heated, expand and weaken the bond.

Bonding‐chemistry‐guided design of carbon frameworks for rechargeable‐ion batteries

open access: yesInfoMat, EarlyView.
This perspective re‐examines carbon anodes in rechargeable‐ion batteries through the lens of bonding chemistry. By moving beyond conventional morphology‐ and dopant‐based descriptions, it establishes bonding chemistry as a unifying framework for understanding how local atomic interactions govern the structure, surface chemistry, and electrochemical ...
