In vivo debonding strength and enamel damage in two orthodontic debonding methods

Journal of Biomechanics, 2005
Bracket debonding strength related to diverse debonding methods and enamel damage has not been assessed in vivo. The study hypothetized a direct relationship between these three parameters. Debonding strength was measured clinically in the wings method and base method on 50 patients in a split mouth method using a calibrated debonding plier.

The Debonded Interface Anticrack

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1996
The debonded interface anticrack is treated analytically and the singularity at the tip is found to vary between 1/2 and 1, with the dependence on the material constants combination explicitly obtained. While the case of uniform tension and shear loading at infinity has been solved, the method of solution, which consists of distributing dislocation and

Finite element modelling of debonding failures in steel beams flexurally strengthened with CFRP laminates

open access: yesEngineering Structures, 2015
A steel beam may be strengthened in flexure by bonding a carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP) plate to the tension face. Such a beam may fail by debonding of the CFRP plate that initiates at one of the plate ends (i.e.

Effects of debonding on circular CFST stub columns

open access: yesJournal of Constructional Steel Research, 2012
Core concrete subjected to confinement effect from steel tube is the main advantage of concrete filled steel tubular (CFST) column under compression. However, this beneficial composite action could be weakened even destroyed by debonding, which is almost

The effect of different bonding and debonding techniques on debonding ceramic orthodontic brackets

American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, 1997
Previous studies have indicated that different bonding and debonding techniques affect the removal or detachment of polycrystalline ceramic brackets that use a mechanical mechanism of bonding to resin. The delamination type debonding forces have been shown to be more effective, compared with twisting and tensile type forces.

Pulpal response in electrothermal debonding

American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, 1995
An alternative method to conventional bracket removal that minimizes the potential for ceramic bracket failure as well as trauma to the enamel surface is electrothermal debonding (ETD). However, the potential for pulpal damage using ETD on ceramic brackets still needs assessment.

The viscoelastic composite with interface debonding

Composites Science and Technology, 2008
Abstract The effect of particle/matrix interface debonding on composites consisting of elastic particles and viscoelastic matrix is studied. The interface debonding is represented by a nonlinear cohesive law for the high explosive PBX 9501. The Mori–Tanaka method gives the constitutive relation of the composite in terms of the properties of elastic ...
