Lymphoid‐Tissue‐on‐Chip Recapitulates Human Antibody Responses In Vitro
The presented lymphoid‐tissue‐on‐chip system allows culture of primary human tonsil cells at organotypic high density under perfusion for up to 4 weeks, emulates immune response to soluble vaccines and vaccination via peripheral antigen‐presenting cells and represents a useful tool to assess cellular interactions during homeostasis, immune responses ...

A biotin‐modified artificial insertion peptide functionalized three‐dimensional high‐curvature‐TiO2 nano‐interface was engineered in a microfluidic chip to improve the isolation efficiency of small extracellular vesicles (sEVs). This chip balanced affinity, releasability, and extendibility, enabling high‐throughput recovery of sEVs for downstream ...

Supraglacial debris cover: global distribution, evolution and regional-scale effect on melt [PDF]
Rock debris on the surface of glaciers form unique structures that evolve with a changing climate and have a net system impact that is unknown at wide scales. While a growing canon of literature is focused on single glaciers or sample regions well-suited

This study presents a 3D embedded bioprinting platform that recapitulates key stromal features of the tumor microenvironment using fibroblasts and lung‐derived ECM. The model enables functional assessment of CAR‐NK cells and provides a versatile tool to support the development of next‐generation immunotherapeutic strategies against solid tumors ...

ABSTRACT Self‐healing materials represent a paradigm shift in designing functional biomedical devices for drug delivery, tissue regeneration, and 3D bioprinting. However, their clinical translation remains limited by challenges such as insufficient mechanical strength, potential cytotoxicity from chemical modifications, and complex activation ...

Modelling Debris Cover with COSIPY
This thesis investigated the effects of debris on glacier surface lowering at Suldenferner during the 2016 ablation season. Parametrisations for static debris cover were implemented into the column energy balance model COSIPY. The new implementation supported running simulations with and without debris cover.

Cigarette smoke accelerates the aging of immune cells in the lung. By combining human single‐cell sequencing, cell culture, and mouse models, the authors show that the protein GEM drives mitochondrial damage and senescence in alveolar macrophages by suppressing SIRT3.

This study identifies S100A14 in tumor‐derived exosomes as a key driver of brain metastasis. S100A14 targets PIAS3 in astrocytes, activating STAT3 signaling and promoting immunosuppressive MDSCs recruitment via chemokine secretion. Germacrone, a natural compound, binds S100A14 to disrupt this axis, effectively inhibiting brain metastasis with low ...

The physical and biological function of wood in New Zealand's forested stream ecosystems
Since the arrival of humans approximately 1000 years before present (B. P.), New Zealand has lost approximately 80% of its forest cover and along with it, the contribution of wood to our aquatic ecosystems. The aim of this thesis was to undertake a large
