Evaluation of an event‐driven 3FI ASIC for spectroscopic X‐ray detection with synchrotron radiation

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, Volume 33, Issue 1, Page 154-161, January 2026.
A new event‐driven, energy‐resolving ASIC intended for full‐field X‐ray fluorescence imaging is presented. Its frameless mode of operation was validated on a synchrotron beamline using a bump‐bonded, 2D segmented silicon sensor, demonstrating per‐pixel energy measurements with event‐driven readout.

Forensic analysis and evaluation of file‐wiping applications in Android OS

open access: yesJournal of Forensic Sciences, Volume 71, Issue 1, Page 338-352, January 2026.
Abstract Anti‐forensics refers to techniques designed to obstruct the discovery of evidence in digital forensic investigations. File‐wiping is one of the anti‐forensic techniques that make data recovery impossible by overwriting data with specific patterns. This technique poses significant challenges to investigators.

Phylogenomic Barcoding of Soil Seed Bank–Persistent and Wind‐Dispersed Non‐Native Plant Species in South Georgia

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, Volume 26, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Climate change and invasive species are leading drivers of biodiversity loss, with island ecosystems being especially vulnerable. South Georgia, a remote sub‐Antarctic island, is 170 km long with approximately 30,000 ha of vegetated coastal areas, as snow and ice dominate the inland regions.

Beyond verbal self‐explanations: Student annotations of a code‐tracing solution produced by ChatGPT

open access: yesBritish Journal of Educational Technology, Volume 57, Issue 1, Page 112-137, January 2026.
Abstract ChatGPT is a generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) that can produce a variety of outputs, including solutions to problems. Prior research shows that for students to learn from instructional content, they need to actively process the content.

Bridging Genomics and Clinical Medicine: RSVrecon Enhances RSV Surveillance With Automated Genotyping and Clinically Important Mutation Reporting

open access: yesInfluenza and Other Respiratory Viruses, Volume 20, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) causes significant respiratory infections, particularly in young children and elderly adults. Genetic variations in the fusion (F) protein can reduce the efficacy of vaccination and monoclonal antibody treatments, emphasizing the need for genomic surveillance of this virus.

Combined (static and dynamic) analysis of binary code

open access: yesТруды Института системного программирования РАН, 2018
This paper investigates the process of binary code analysis. To achieve typical goals (such as extracting algorithm and data formats, exploiting vulnerabilities, revealing backdoors and undocumented features) a security analyst needs to explore control ...
