Ultrasonic aortic valve decalcification
The Japanese Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 2000We report a case of calcific aortic stenosis in a 79-year-old man who had undergone aortocoronary bypass. Since ordinary valve replacement was problematic because of severe annular calcification, a small annular diameter, and three patent vein grafts, we performed ultrasonic aortic valve decalcification.

Decalcification of teeth in a microwave oven
The Histochemical Journal, 1990The effects of microwave radiation in reducing decalcification time were evaluated by measuring rates of calcium removal from samples of rat and cat teeth in 0.1 mol l-1 EDTA. In some cases, 3% glutaraldehyde was added to the decalcifying solution.

A Method for Decalcification with Citric Acid
Biotechnic & Histochemistry, 1993Psammoma bodies and small calcifications are frequently seen in a wide variety of tissues. These deposits of calcium salts render tissues difficult to section. Conventional decalcification alters the tissues; consequently it is not advisable to decalcify tissues containing only small calcium deposits.

Enamel decalcification in orthodontic treatment
American Journal of Orthodontics, 1979One hundred twenty previously extracted premolar teeth were used in this study. Teeth were divided into five groups of twenty-four each. The first group was treated with Copalite, the second with Portrait Veneer, the third with a polymeric adhesive coating material (Protecto), the fourth group with Nuva-Seal, and the fifth group served as a control ...

Spontaneous Decalcification of a Choroidal Osteoma
Ophthalmology, 1988A 23-year-old woman presented with a clearly defined, pale orange choroidal tumor superior to the right optic disc in 1976. The patient was followed. After a choroidal osteoma was first reported in 1977, this diagnosis was confirmed in this patient using ultrasonography and orbital tomography. The lesion grew very slowly over the next 5 years. In 1981,

Mechanical Decalcification of the Aortic Valve
The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1986Thromboembolism and anticoagulant-related complications secondary to prosthetic aortic valve replacement constitute a significant risk (28% at 5 years). From 1978 through 1984, decalcification of the aortic valve was performed in 8 patients who were undergoing coronary artery revascularization.

Effects of Decalcification on Immunoperoxidase Staining
The American Journal of Surgical Pathology, 1986One of the limitations of immunoperoxidase methods applied in surgical pathology is the loss of immunoreactivity during fixation and processing. In this study, the effects of decalcification on the immunoreactivity of various antigens in formalin fixed tissues were examined.

Decalcification of marine clay soils connected with decalcification during silting
Geoderma, 1970Abstract The marine clay area in The Netherlands consists largely of soils which are deposited in various periods of the Subatlanticum. In the 11th century man began to protect these areas from flooding by means of dikes. A part of the soils is now decalcified to variable depths.
