This study investigated the reproductive biology of Decapterus macarellus locally known as ''Msumari", one of the most economically important scad fish along the coastline of Tanzania. Fish samples were collected from ring net artisanal fishers operating in Tanga and Bagamoyo coastal waters, monthly between April 2019 and September 2020.

Prevalence of pelagic dependence among coral reef predators across an atoll seascape
All sampled fishery target coral reef predators predominantly (65%–88%) relied on planktonic food sources to sustain their biomass in North Malé Atoll, Maldives. Planktonic reliance was equally high inside the atoll lagoon, highlighting the importance of reef–pelagic connectivity and the need for management plans that transcend habitat boundaries ...

Comparative Phylogeography of the Coral Triangle and Implications for Marine Management
Extreme concentration of marine biodiversity and exploitation of marine resources in the Coral Triangle pose challenges to biogeographers and resource managers. Comparative phylogeography provides a powerful tool to test biogeographic hypotheses evoked to explain species richness in the Coral Triangle.

The Ecology of Coral Reef Top Predators in the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument
Coral reef habitats in the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument (PMNM) are characterized by abundant top‐level predators such as sharks and jacks. The predator assemblage is dominated both numerically and in biomass by giant trevally (Caranx ignobilis) and Galapagos sharks (Carcharhinus galapagensis).

GENETIC DIVERSITY OF MACKEREL SCADS, Decapterus macarellus (Cuvier, 1833) IN THE INDIAN OCEAN
Mackerel scads (Decapterus macarellus) is a small widely distributed pelagic species in ocean. In 2013, monthly catch and abundance index of mackerel scads increased in western part of Sumatera waters. High exploitation of mackerel scads may lead to decrease stock due to the over exploitation.
