World markets for conventional and advanced biofuels over the next five years [PDF]
Production of transport biofuels grew by just 2% in 2017. To achieve the 2030 SDS target, use of biofuels needs to triple, driven by cost reductions of advanced biofuels, widespread sustainability governance and more adoption in aviation and marine ...

Manipulating the product generation yield is achieved on a model plasmonic resonance‐driven reaction by tuning the nonthermal effects of localized surface plasmonic resonance on an elliptical Au‐TiO2 nanopillar metasurface. Asymmetric configuration of the elliptical nanopillar array governs the polarization‐dependent optical properties redshifting the ...

Anisotropically Wettable Porous Transport Layers for Gas Management in Water Electrolyzers
Synergistic wetting, achieved by integrating hydrophilic and hydrophobic domains, enhances mass transport in porous transport layers. In situ visualization reveals that dual‐phase wetting suppresses gas accumulation and promotes continuous bubble release, enabling stable, bubble‐free electrolysis within membrane electrode assemblies.

Where Can Aluminum Go When Batteries Die?
Battery‐derived aluminum is transformed from contaminated waste into an alloying resource for high‐performance Fe‐based alloys. Through controlled Al content and processing, dual‐phase austenite/ferrite microstructures with TRIP‐like behavior are achieved.

When Decarbonisation meets Disinformation: EU-Russia Energy Relations. IES Policy Brief Issue 2016/15• June 2016 [PDF]
The EU agreed in 2009 to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 80-95% by 2050, compared to 1990 levels. This ‘decarbonisation’ objective means a massive shift away from fossil fuel consumption.
