Parameters Governing Ruthenium Sawhorse-Based Decarboxylation of Oleic Acid

open access: yes, 2017
Ruthenium-catalyzed decarboxylation of 9-cis-octadecenoic is a path to produce biobased olefins. Here, a mechanistic study of this reaction was undertaken utilizing a closed reaction system and a pressure reactor.

Biomasses of different Salix L. clones in the decarboxylation process during energy production [PDF]

open access: yesZbornik Matice Srpske za Prirodne Nauke
Biomass is increasingly employed in diverse applications to achieve and enhance energy efficiency, owing to its carbon-neutral nature. This is attributed to the fact that the quantity of CO2 released during its combustion corresponds precisely ...

Optimising the Decarboxylation of Anacardic Acid by Exploring the Temperature Effects

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry
Cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) is one of the raw materials extracted from cashew nut shells (CNS). This liquid can be processed to produce cardanol through the decarboxylation of anacardic acid, a significant isolate from CNSL.

Synergistic Advanced Oxidation and Physicochemical Treatment Strategies for Antibiotic Removal and Resistance Mitigation in Water

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The presence of antibiotics in water not only causes environmental pollution but also increases the growth of antibiotic‐resistant bacterial genes, which pose serious threats to human beings and other water residents. Large numbers of people are reportedly affected by the resistant bacterial genes, as many broad‐spectrum antibiotics are not ...

Influence of Storage Time on Functional Bulk Properties of Low‐Pressure Oxygen/Argon Plasma Modified Polypropylene Fabric

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Treatment of polypropylene fabric in oxygen plasma was used to impart the fabric surface with more hydrophilic surface properties. Changes in bulk properties were minimal as the modification mainly affected the fabric surface. Bulk fabric properties water retention, moisture content and wicking were monitored over a period of 33 days.
