Visible-Light-Induced Decarboxylation of Dioxazolones to Phosphinimidic Amides and Ureas

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
A visible-light-induced external catalyst-free decarboxylation of dioxazolones was realized for the bond formation of N=P and N–C bonds to access phosphinimidic amides and ureas. Various phosphinimidic amides and ureas (47 examples) were synthesized with

Spontaneous Non‐Catalyzed Molecular Reactions and Interactions in the Human Body: Biomedical Implications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The human body functions as a natural reactor for a vast network of chemical and biological reactions and physical interactions among small molecules, proteins, cells, and numerous other components. These reactions/interactions are essential for maintaining normal physiological functions.

Quantitative Photo‐Reforming of Biomass to CO Spurred by In Situ Protonation of Carbon Dioxide Radical Anions

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A “two‐in‐one” photoreduction strategy enabled by electron‐rich yolk Cd species both remote from and adjacent to sulfur vacancies is delivered to be ultraselective for the reduction of O2 and •CO2− in situ formed on the shell Bi2S3 composition (hole) by water oxidation and oxidative C–C cleavage of various biomass organic acids, furnishing CO with > 99%

Kinsenoside Targets IDH1 to Restore Microglial Immune‐Metabolic Homeostasis for Alzheimer's Disease Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dysregulated TCA cycle contributes to Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathogenesis. Here, we show that microglial isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1) is a critical driver. Elevated IDH1 disrupts citrate metabolism and mitochondrial function, exacerbating AD pathology.

Functional characterization of a catalytically promiscuous tryptophan decarboxylase from camptothecin-producing Camptotheca acuminata

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Tryptophan decarboxylases (TDCs) are a group of pyridoxal 5′-phosphate-dependent enzymes involved in the enzymatic conversion of tryptophan into tryptamine, a critical biogenic amine.

Mechanosensitive Piezo1/Osteocalcin/Irisin Axis Protects Against Disuse‐Induced Muscle Atrophy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical unloading suppresses bone Piezo1 expression, which reduces circulating undercarboxylated osteocalcin (unOCN). unOCN reduction subsequently exacerbates IMM‐induced Fndc5/Irisin decrease and drives severe muscle atrophy. Bone Piezo1 activation or exogenous osteocalcin/Irisin ameliorate muscle atrophy, while muscle‐specific Gprc6a or Fndc5 ...

Spike‐Embedded Nanocatalysts via Metal‐Directed Carbonization for Highly Efficient and Robust Semi‐Hydrogenation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A metal‐directed carbonization strategy transforms hierarchical organic microspheres into spiky carbon catalysts with Pd nanoparticles embedded at the tips. This approach resolves the activity‐stability trade‐off, achieving exceptional poison resistance in semi‐hydrogenations, offering a versatile, scalable platform for designing high‐performance ...

Stereochemistry of the methylmalonyl-CoA decarboxylation reaction

open access: yes, 1987
The steric course of the decarboxylation of (S)-methylmalonyl-CoA to propionyl-CoA, catalyzed by the biotin-dependent sodium pump methylmalonyl-CoA decarboxylase of Veillonella alcalescens was determined.

Decarboxylation of Metastable Methyl Benzoate Molecular Ions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
By using a combination of mass spectrometric methodologies and density functional theory calculations [DFT/B3LYP/6-311 ++ G(d, p)], it is proposed that the decarboxylation of metastable methyl benzoate molecular ions occurs via distonic and ion-neutral ...
