The pionic two-body decay amplitude of the proton in the SU(5) grand unified gauge theory is computed by using the soft-pion method in the reference frame of the pion at rest. The normalization condition of the relativistic three-body Bethe-Salpeter wave function of the proton is used in the computation.

Decay Rates of Different mRNA in E. coli and Models of Decay
Nature New Biology, 1972THE basis for messenger RNA instability in bacteria is not understood. Both functional capacity1,2 and mass of messages for a given protein are lost at constant exponential rates which can differ, indicating independent processes3.

A simple estimator for frequency and decay rate
IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1996A simple, computationally inexpensive algorithm is developed for estimating the frequency and decay rate of a complex exponential. Two iterations of the algorithm attains the Cramer-Rao bound on the variance of the frequency and decay rate estimate for a complex exponential in white Gaussian noise. The algorithm uses an adaptive window that changes its

In this paper we briefly review all positronium (Ps) decay rate measurements (including those of the excited states and the Ps negative ion) that have been completed to date. The results are compared with theoretical values. The Ps system represents the most rigorous confrontation with theoretical decay rate calculations for any QED system.

The new decay rates of mesons which have been published within the last year are examined to determine their consistency with SU(3) symmetry, vector dominance, and the quark model. It is shown that despite an apparent overall trend of the new data to disagree with certain quark-model predictions by a factor of 3 or so, the consistency of the data with ...

Decay Rates for the Hollow Circular Cylinder
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1992The self-equilibrated end load problem for a hollow circular cylinder is considered using the Papkovitch-Neuber solution to the elastostatic displacement equations of equilibrium; both axi- and nonaxisymmetric solutions are derived. The requirement of zero traction on the surface generators of the cylinder leads to an eigenequation whose roots ...

Measurement of the rate for pion beta decay
Physical Review D, 1985The conserved-vector-current hypothesis, together with measured nuclear beta-decay rates, predicts a value of the rate for the decay ..pi../sup +/..--> pi../sup 0/e/sup +/..nu.. of 0.4027 +- 0.0018 s/sup -1/. Using a decay-in-flight technique we have made the most precise measurement to date of this rate, obtaining the value 0.394 +- 0.015 s/sup -1 ...

Light hadronic decays and decay rates of quarkonia
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2011The Light hadronic decay and decay rates of mesons (QQ) are studied in the NRQCD formalism in terms of their short distance and long distance coefficients. The long distance coefficients are obtained through phenomenological potential model description of the mesons.

Estimation of decay rates of transient signals
IEEE Transactions on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1990The problem of estimating time constants of multiple exponentials in additive white Gaussian noise is investigated. It is shown that existing linear-production-based techniques, which perform very well for decay-rate estimation of signals with different frequencies, fail when applied to the case of decaying exponentials at a single frequency.
