Clustering Algorithm Reveals Dopamine‐Motor Mismatch in Cognitively Preserved Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore the relationship between dopaminergic denervation and motor impairment in two de novo Parkinson's disease (PD) cohorts. Methods n = 249 PD patients from Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) and n = 84 from an external clinical cohort.

Analysis of the Fractal Dimension, b-value, Slip Ratio, and Decay Rate of Aftershock Seismicity Following the 6 February 2023 (Mw 7.8 and 7.5) Türkiye Earthquakes

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
On 6 February 2023, Türkiye experienced a pair of consecutive earthquakes with magnitudes of Mw 7.8 and 7.5, and accompanied by an intense aftershock sequence.

Multidimensional Profiling of MRI‐Negative Temporal Lobe Epilepsy Uncovers Distinct Phenotypes

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Although hippocampal sclerosis (TLE‐HS) represents the most frequent cause of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), up to 30% of patients show no lesion on visual MRI inspection (TLE‐MRIneg). These cases pose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges and are underrepresented in surgical series.

Elevated Connectivity During Language Processing Is Associated With Cognitive Performance in SeLECTS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Self‐Limited Epilepsy with Centrotemporal Spikes (SeLECTS) is associated with language impairments despite seizures originating in the motor cortex, suggesting aberrant cross‐network interactions. Here we tested whether functional connectivity in SeLECTS during language tasks predicts language performance.

SPG4 and Dementia: Expanding the Clinical Spectrum

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) is a group of disorders characterized by progressive spasticity and lower limb weakness, with mutations in SPG4/SPAST being the most common cause. Detailed studies and clinical and molecular comparisons across different populations are missing.

RNA Sequencing Resolves Cryptic Pathogenic Variants in Mitochondrial Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Mitochondrial diseases are the most common inherited metabolic disorders, characterized by pronounced clinical and genetic heterogeneity that complicates molecular diagnosis. Although DNA‐based sequencing approaches have become standard in genetic testing, up to half of patients remain without a definitive diagnosis.

Time decay estimates of solutions to a two-phase flow model in the whole space

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis
In this article, we aim to establish the optimal time decay rates of strong solutions to a two-phase flow model derived from a type of coupled fluid-kinetic equation.

Quantization of energy and weakly turbulent profiles of solutions to some damped second-order evolution equations

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis, 2017
We consider a second-order equation with a linear “elastic” part and a nonlinear damping term depending on a power of the norm of the velocity. We investigate the asymptotic behavior of solutions, after rescaling them suitably in order to take into ...

A coating of chitosan and propolis extract for the postharvest treatment of papaya (Carica papaya L. cv. Hawaiiana)

open access: yesRevista Facultad Nacional de Agronomía Medellín, 2015
Propolis is a natural antimicrobial that can be used asa bioadditive in coatings to control fruit quality losses. The effectof two coatings was evaluated, a control (chitosan, 1%) and atreatment (chitosan, 1%; containing propolisethanolic extract, 5%),on

Mass corrections to the tau decay rate

open access: yesZeitschrift fr Physik C Particles and Fields, 1993
In this note radiative corrections to the total hadronic decay rate of the $τ$-lepton are studied employing perturbative QCD and the operator product expansion. We calculate quadratic quark mass corrections to the decay rate ration $R_τ$ to the order ${\cal O}(α_s^2 m^2)$ and find that they contribute appreciably to the Cabbibo supressed decay modes of
