Improvement of wood decay resistance by salicylic acid / silica microcapsule: Effects on the salicylic leaching, microscopic structure and decay resistance

International Biodeterioration and Biodegradation, 2021
Abstract Wood is an environmentally friendly product, but some of woods can be easily biodegraded. Salicylic acid/silica microcapsules (SSM) represents a kind of wood preservative prepared with the anti-fungal salicylic acid as a core substance and the silica as wall material using sol-gel technology.

Bulk resistance decay in CdTe

IEEE EUROCON 2009, 2009
Bulk resistance decay of cadmium telluride (CdTe) single crystals was investigated. The bulk resistance of each CdTe single crystal was measured during long time interval. The samples were placed into a cryostat. That allowed us to hold the temperature constant during the measurements and eliminate the illumination influence.

The resistance of cork to decay by wood-destroying molds

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1951
Abstract A new method for the determination of the lignin in cork has been reported. This procedure gives values ca. 25–30%. It is based on the colorimetric estimation of the lignin released by autoclaving with alkali. Using this method it was shown that cork is highly resistant to decay by brown-rot wood-destroying molds.

Diffusion resistance and enzyme activity decay in a pellet

Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 1982
AbstractThe effective enzyme activity decay can be decreased by diffusion limitation in the immobilized pellet. Thiele modulus changes and/or poisoning of various enzyme forms are two phenomena which are influenced by diffusion limitation. This article considers these effects on enzyme decay as applied to glucose isomerase.

Perturbations of a resistive decaying equilibrium

Physica, 1974
The perturbation of a uniformly decaying equilibrium is studied within the framework of resistive magnetodynamics. If the time of decay of the equilibrium state is large, the eigenmodes are the same as in nonresistive MHD. Nonresistive instabilities persist but the oscillating displacements have an increasing amplitude and an increasing period.
