Decentralized Systems

IEEE Internet Computing, 2022
The articles in this special section focuses on decentralized systems. Our world is filled with decentralized systems, human society and organizations being the most familiar examples. In such systems, we see multiple loci of ownership or control, representing different parties or administrative domains.

Decentralized Systems

Water Environment Research, 2008
A review of the literature published in 2009 on topics relating to decentralized water systems. Decentralized systems are designed with less than fully centralized collection and treatment for various benefits. Although these systems serve diverse needs, they have common characteristics, such as remote monitoring, control, and quality verification ...

Decentralized Fiber Optic Acquisition System

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1982
The paper describes a decentralized data acquisition system installed for a long term on-site test at a French power plant. Two local autonomous stations acquire the information from 24 channels; the data are continuously transmitted to a concentrator through two 600 m long optical cables at a rate of 0.96 Mbits/sec.

Group decentralized network systems-one approach for autonomous decentralized systems

Proceedings of IEEE Singapore International Conference on Networks and International Conference on Information Engineering '95, 2002
This paper presents the concept of group decentralized network systems (GDNS) based on a type of autonomous decentralized system (ADS) and its implementation on two topologies of degree-3 networks, called chordal rings and completely connected ring-group (CCR) networks.

Decentralized Control Systems

2019
In this chapter, the stability of decentralized control systems is investigated, which is shown to be dependent on the notion of decentralized fixed modes (DFMs). Different techniques are provided to characterize the DFMs of a general proper finite-dimensional LTI system. The first technique is an efficient numerical method which can be easily utilized

ON DECENTRALIZED OBSERVATION AND DECENTRALIZED CONTROL OF LARGE SCALE SYSTEMS

Acta Mathematica Scientia, 1991
Given a linear large scale system \(\dot x=Ax+Bu\), \(y=Cx\), where the \(n\)- dimensional state vector is composed of \(p\) subvectors \(x_ 1,\dots,x_ p\), and the inputs \(u\) and outputs \(y\) decompose accordingly the problem of decentralized feedback stabilization with a decentralized observer is posed and solved in terms of stabilizability and ...

Decentralized Recommender Systems

2013
Preceding chapters, particularly Chapter 3 and Chapter 7, have presented methods and techniques based on Web 2.0 information structures that are, among other things, able to address specific issues of decentralized recommender systems. Moreover, Chapter 8 has shown that, to a certain extent, trust implies similarity and thus becomes eligible as a tool ...

Decentralized Battery Management System

Proceedings of the 2014 15th International Scientific Conference on Electric Power Engineering (EPE), 2014
This paper describes the design idea of a decentralized Battery Management System with the communication between cells over power line. First part of the paper shortly summaries the Battery Management System (BMS), differences between centralized and decentralized systems and explains the main target of this project.
