Decentralized control of hybrid systems
Proceedings 5th International Symposium on Autonomous Decentralized Systems, 2002The key issue of a multi agent system is the decentralized control and optimization of a given global system which is normally of large scale. In this connection features like stability, controllability, and observability are important aspects. The paper deals with control structures of decentralized agent driven hybrid systems.

Is decentralization sustainable in the bitcoin system?
Decision Support Systems, 2019The Bitcoin system is a decentralized monetary system in that any participant can potentially verify and record transactions onto a public ledger. Using a simple model, we show that the number of miners could be negatively (positively) related to the expected rewards, if miners with low-operating costs face less (more) severe financing constraints.

A decentralized energy management system
2015 European Control Conference (ECC), 2015The primary goal of an energy management system (EMS) in power networks is to balance the supply and demand in a cost efficient manner given its operating horizon, and uncertainties in generation due to renewable generators and in demand. This goal is formulated as the economic dispatch problem.

FJM2 - A Decentralized JMS System
2007With the growth of internet, the requirement for the communication and message exchanges between programs becomes more and more important. The Message-Oriented Middleware (MOM), such as Java Message Service (JMS), could not only greatly reduce the technical learning curve for programmers but also have some amazing characteristics: such as reliable ...

Decentralized credit mining in P2P systems
2015 IFIP Networking Conference (IFIP Networking), 2015Accounting mechanisms based on credit are used in peer-to-peer systems to track the contribution of peers to the community for the purpose of deterring freeriding and rewarding good behavior. Most often, peers earn credit for uploading files, but other activities might be rewarded in the future as well, such as making useful comments or reporting spam.

Decentralized control of linear multivariable systems
Automatica, 1975Abstract This paper studies the effects of decentralized feedback on the closed-loop properties of jointly controllable, jointly observable k-channel linear systems. Channel interactions within such systems are described by means of suitably defined directed graphs.

The future of autonomous decentralized systems
The Sixth International Symposium on Autonomous Decentralized Systems, 2003. ISADS 2003., 2003Over the past fifty years the size of computer applications, as gauged by any reasonable measure, has increased exponentially. In contrast, our cognitive capabilities for understanding have not changed. This discrepancy has forced us to look for more abstract representations of systems to reduce the number of elements we have to consider simultaneously

Trend of autonomous decentralized systems
Proceedings. 10th IEEE International Workshop on Future Trends of Distributed Computing Systems, 2004. FTDCS 2004., 2004Markets and the technologies have been rapidly changing and advancing. User requirements have been diversified and unpredictable. Under these evolving situations, an autonomous decentralized system (ADS) was proposed for resolving the on-line property to achieve step-by-step expansion, maintenance/test and fault-propagation prevention without stopping ...

Violet, an experimental decentralized system
Computer Networks (1976), 1981Abstract Over the past year we have been designing and constructing an experimental decentralized information system called Violet. The lowest levels of the Violet system make it easy to construct a distributed user application by hiding the application's decentralized environment.

Fallacies in Evaluating Decentralized Systems. [PDF]
Research on decentralized systems such as peer-to-peer overlays and ad hoc networks has been hampered by the fact that few systems of this type are in production use, and the space of possible applications is still poorly understood. As a consequence, new ideas have mostly been evaluated using common synthetic workloads, traces from a few existing ...
