Child's Nervous System, 2008
The craniocervical junction is affected by numerous pathological processes. This involves congenital, developmental, and acquired abnormalities. It can result in neurological deficit secondary to neurovascular compression, abnormal cerebrospinal fluid dynamics, and craniovertebral instability.

A series of four studies explored how the ability to comprehend and transform probability numbers relates to performance on judgment and decision tasks. On the surface, the tasks in the four studies appear to be widely different; at a conceptual level, however, they all involve processing numbers and the potential to show an influence of affect ...

From a Bayesian decision theoretic framework, we show that the reason why the usual statistical approaches do not take context into account is because of the assumptions made on the joint prior probability function and because of the simplistic loss function chosen.

Clinical problems are often complex. Problems of great complexity are usually associated with a commensurately greater degree of difficulty with respect to the decision making process. This is most certainly true regarding the management of cervical spondylosis. Usually, clinicians make clinically appropriate decisions.

The Decision Hedgehog for Creative Decision Making
Information Systems and e-Business Management, 2007This article introduces a fundamental evolution of the group decision support model from the single “decision-spine” which focuses on a single proceduralized context, to provide comprehensive Group Communication and Decision Support (GDACS). We show how GDACS can support creative decision-making through collaborative authoring of outcomes, within a ...

Objective: This article describes the origins and contributions of the naturalistic decision making (NDM) research approach. Background: NDM research emerged in the 1980s to study how people make decisions in real-world settings. Method: The findings and methods used by NDM researchers are presented along with their implications.

Decision trees and decision-making
IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 1990Various practical systems capable of extracting descriptive decision-making knowledge from data have been developed and evaluated. Techniques that represent knowledge about classified tasks in the form of decision trees are examined. A sample of techniques is sketched, ranging from basic methods of constructing decision trees to ways of using them ...
