Bilayer LDPC Convolutional Codes for Decode-and-Forward Relaying

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2013
In this paper we present bilayer LDPC convolutional codes for half-duplex relay channels. Two types of codes, bilayer expurgated LDPC convolutional codes and bilayer lengthened LDPC convolutional codes, are proposed for decode-and-forward (DF) relaying.

Detectors for Cooperative Mesh Networks With Decode-and-Forward Relays

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2015
We consider mesh networks composed of groups of relaying nodes which operate in decode-and-forward mode. Each node from a group relays information to all the nodes in the next group. We study these networks in two setups, one where the nodes have complete state informationabout the channels through which theyreceivethesignals ...

Cooperative Transmission with a Slotted Incremental Decode-and-Forward Protocol

2011 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2011
We investigate a slotted incremental decode-and-forward (SIDF) protocol for cooperative communication in wireless networks. In the proposed scheme, each user allocates only a portion of its time-resource to incrementally relay its partner's information, thus to improve the bandwidth efficiency of the cooperative transmission. To analyze the performance,

Energy Efficiency of Decode-and-Forward for Wideband Wireless Multicasting

IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2011
In this paper, we study the minimum energy per bit required for communicating a message to all the destination nodes in a wireless network. The physical layer is modeled as an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel affected by circularly symmetric fading. The fading coefficients are known at neither transmitters nor receivers.

A Novel Partial Decode-and-Forward Relaying with Multiple Antennas

2010 IEEE 72nd Vehicular Technology Conference - Fall, 2010
This paper proposes a novel partial decode-and-forward (DF) relaying strategy with multiple antennas. In the first phase, the source broadcasts data streams consisting of non-forwarding and forwarding data streams. In the second phase, a relay node forwards only forwarding data streams to a destination node, and a destination node decodes both ...

Optimal beamforming for MIMO decode-and-forward relay channels

2012 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2012
Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) relay channels has great application potentials in wireless communication systems and therefore attracts both academia and industrial attentions recently. In this paper, we consider the MIMO relay channels where both source node and relay node are equipped with multiple antennas and the destination node has a ...

Power optimization of Decode-and-forward assisted ARQ relaying

2015 27th International Conference on Microelectronics (ICM), 2015
In this paper we investigate the performances of Decode-and-forward (DF) assisted by automatic repeat request (ARQ) relaying over Rayleigh fast fading channel. We derive a tight asymptotic approximation of the outage probability at high signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) regime.
