Distributed Decode and Forward Beamforming

37th Annual IEEE Conference on Local Computer Networks, 2012
Distributed transmit beamforming is a wireless communication technique in which multiple independent antennas transmit a common message while controlling their transmitted carrier phases to constructively interfere the message at a destination. Depending on the transmission goals and choice of network parameters, certain noteworthy benefits arise from ...

Dynamic Decode and Forward with Network Coding

2012 IEEE 75th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2012
This paper is divided into two parts. In the first part, we analyze outage probability of dynamic decode and forward (DDF) with network coding (NC) and compare outage probability with using NC and without using NC. In the second part, we use MATLAB programming language to simulate our system model.

A New Incomplete Decode-and-Forward Protocol

2008 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, 2008
In this work, we explore the introduction of distributed space-time codes in decode-and-forward (DF) protocols. We propose a new Incomplete DF protocol, based on a partial decoding at the relays. This strategy allows the new protocol to bring both full diversity and full symbol rate.

Bounding of MAP decode and forward relaying

2010 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2010
We formulate the maximum a posteriori (MAP) rule for the decode-and-forward transmission strategy operating with a noisy relay. From the MAP rule we derive an analytical bound on the error probability, taking into account decoding errors at the relay.

Decode‐and‐forward with full‐duplex relaying

International Journal of Communication Systems, 2011
SUMMARYThis paper addresses the full‐duplex relaying. Some expressions for outage and average capacity of a two‐hop cooperative system with a full‐duplex relay are derived under an independent but not identically distributed Rayleigh fading environment. Using these expressions, we provide the performance analysis without Monte Carlo simulations.

Decode-and-forward strategies for bidirectional relaying

2008 IEEE 19th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2008
We consider a three-node network, where a relay node establishes a bidirectional communication between two nodes using a two-phase decode-and-forward protocol. In the first phase the two nodes transmit their messages to the relay node which decodes them.

Cooperative Fading Regions for Decode and Forward Relaying

IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2008
Cooperative transmission protocols over fading channels are based on a number of relaying nodes to form virtual multi-antenna transmissions. Diversity provided by these techniques has been widely analyzed for the Rayleigh fading case. However, short range or fixed wireless communications often experience propagation environments where the fading ...

Opportunistic Decode-and-Forward Relaying with Interferences at Relays

Wireless Personal Communications, 2011
In this paper, a decode-and-forward cooperative interference-limited multiple relay network is considered. An efficient relay selection strategy and its performance analysis are proposed, where only the relay nodes are affected by multiple interferences.

Decode-and-Forward Cooperative Networks with Relay Selection

2007 IEEE 66th Vehicular Technology Conference, 2007
In this paper, we focus on the decode-and-forward (DF) cooperative networks with relay selection. Many detection schemes have been proposed for the DF; but it has been shown that the cooperative maximum ratio combining (C-MRC) can achieve almost the same performance as the optimum maximum likelihood detector and has a much lower complexity.

Decode-and-forward cooperation as the distributed encoding and decoding

2010 7th International Symposium on Wireless Communication Systems, 2010
The decode-and-forward relaying is studied as two problems of the distributed encoding and decoding. Specifically, in the first problem, the source and the relay employ the same channel encoding, and the objective is to find how to distribute the decoding complexity between the relay and the destination.
