Error bounds for decode-and-forward relaying
2010 European Wireless Conference (EW), 2010We analyze and compare the maximum-likelihood (ML) decoder and the maximum a-posteriori (MAP) decoder for coding over a decode-and-forward relay network with orthogonal channels. Using a specific model for the errors introduced by the relay, we derive an optimal MAP decoder that operates on a super-trellis and estimates jointly the transmitted codeword

Detectors for Cooperative Mesh Networks With Decode-and-Forward Relays
IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2015We consider mesh networks composed of groups of relaying nodes which operate in decode-and-forward mode. Each node from a group relays information to all the nodes in the next group. We study these networks in two setups, one where the nodes have complete state informationabout the channels through which theyreceivethesignals ...

Cooperative Transmission with a Slotted Incremental Decode-and-Forward Protocol
2011 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2011We investigate a slotted incremental decode-and-forward (SIDF) protocol for cooperative communication in wireless networks. In the proposed scheme, each user allocates only a portion of its time-resource to incrementally relay its partner's information, thus to improve the bandwidth efficiency of the cooperative transmission. To analyze the performance,

Energy Efficiency of Decode-and-Forward for Wideband Wireless Multicasting
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2011In this paper, we study the minimum energy per bit required for communicating a message to all the destination nodes in a wireless network. The physical layer is modeled as an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel affected by circularly symmetric fading. The fading coefficients are known at neither transmitters nor receivers.

Performance Analysis of Decode-and-Forward Relaying with Selection Combining
IEEE Communications Letters, 2007Distributed spatial diversity systems utilize multiple communication nodes to create independent signal replicas that are combined at the destination. Practical diversity receivers often employ simple combining techniques especially if comparable performance to more complex optimum combining can be achieved.
