Decode‐and‐forward with full‐duplex relaying

International Journal of Communication Systems, 2011
SUMMARYThis paper addresses the full‐duplex relaying. Some expressions for outage and average capacity of a two‐hop cooperative system with a full‐duplex relay are derived under an independent but not identically distributed Rayleigh fading environment. Using these expressions, we provide the performance analysis without Monte Carlo simulations.

ML decoding in decode-and-forward based cooperative communication system

2011 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2011
In this paper, we derive a maximum-likelihood (ML) decoder of the decode-and-forward (DF) protocol utilizing an arbitrary complex-valued M-point constellation. Existing decoders of the DF based cooperative systems are applicable only to real-valued constellations like BPSK and M-PAM, hence, also to square M2-QAM.

ML Decoder for Decode-and-Forward Based Cooperative Communication System

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2011
Decode-and-forward (DF) protocol based cooperative communication is vulnerable to the erroneous relaying by the relay. In this paper, we derive a maximum-likelihood (ML) decoder for the DF protocol utilizing arbitrary complex-valued constellations including M-PSK, M-PAM, and M-QAM.

Performance of Amplify-and-Forward and Decode-and-Forward Relays in LTE-Advanced

2009 IEEE 70th Vehicular Technology Conference Fall, 2009
Current broadband wireless networks are characterized by large cell sizes. Yet, even in advanced networks, users on the cell edge will face relatively low Signal-to- Interference-plus-Noise-Ratio (SINR). An attractive solution for this problem is provided by multi-hop technologies.

On the generalization of decode-and-forward and compress-and-forward for Gaussian relay channels

2011 IEEE Information Theory Workshop, 2011
In this paper, the generalization of the decode-and-forward (DF) and compress-and-forward (CF) relaying schemes is studied for the case in which Gaussian codebooks are used for signalling over scalar Gaussian memoryless channels. Three SNR regions are identified wherein the generalized DF-CF scheme reduces to either the DF or the CF scheme. In addition,

Cooperative Fading Regions for Decode and Forward Relaying

IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2008
Cooperative transmission protocols over fading channels are based on a number of relaying nodes to form virtual multi-antenna transmissions. Diversity provided by these techniques has been widely analyzed for the Rayleigh fading case. However, short range or fixed wireless communications often experience propagation environments where the fading ...

Improved Iterative Decoders for Turbo-Coded Decode-and-Forward Relay Channels

2012 IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Fall), 2012
An Improved Maximum A Posteriori (IMAP) decoder for turbo-coded decode-and-forward (DF) relay channels which takes into account the decoding errors at the relay is analyzed. This decoder is implemented in an iterative manner similar to the traditional iterative decoder (TID) used for turbo codes.

Opportunistic Decode-and-Forward Relaying with Interferences at Relays

Wireless Personal Communications, 2011
In this paper, a decode-and-forward cooperative interference-limited multiple relay network is considered. An efficient relay selection strategy and its performance analysis are proposed, where only the relay nodes are affected by multiple interferences.

Forward decoding over a relay channel

2008 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2008
A communication strategy proposed by Cover and El Gamal was until recently the best known achievable scheme over a discrete memoryless relay channel ([1], Theorem 7). This strategy combines cooperation and facilitation between the transmitter and relay.

Compressive cooperative communication with decode and forward relay

2016 8th International Conference on Communication Systems and Networks (COMSNETS), 2016
The theory of compressive sensing (CS) is acquiring attraction now a days, as it can reconstruct a sparse signal at a sub-Nyquist sampling rate. Recently CS is being used in communication systems for channel estimation, Massive MIMO, cognitive radio etc. In this paper, CS is using in an overlay cooperative spectrum sharing scheme for decode and forward
