Functional Evaluation of Bacillus subtilis DCP04 from Korean Fermented Soybean Paste: A Potential Probiotic Strain for Polyethylene Degradation and Adsorption

open access: yesFoods
Micro- and nanoplastics (MPs and NPs) are recognized as emerging contaminants posing potential risks to human health. Recent evidence highlights the potential of food-grade microbial strains to bind these particles and facilitate their removal ...

First Evidence That Nematode Communities in Deadwood Are Related to Tree Species Identity and to Co-Occurring Fungi and Prokaryotes

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2021
Nematodes represent a diverse and ubiquitous group of metazoans in terrestrial environments. They feed on bacteria, fungi, plants, other nematodes or parasitize a variety of animals and hence may be considered as active members of many food webs ...

SECTOR DECOMPOSITION

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 2008
Sector decomposition is a constructive method to isolate divergences from parameter integrals occurring in perturbative quantum field theory. We explain the general algorithm in detail and review its application to multiloop Feynman parameter integrals as well as infrared divergent phase-space integrals over real radiation matrix elements.

Biotic and abiotic synergies in a log ecosystem

open access: yesDavao Research Journal
Log ecosystems are unique ecosystems that arise from fallen trees, forming microhabitats that exhibit distinct ecological dynamics. This paper aims to describe what a log ecosystem is and what are its components and their connection.

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...
