Single‐cell DNA methylation profiling: Technologies, computation, and applications in precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell DNA methylation (scDNAme) profiling maps epimutational clonal evolution, revealing mechanisms of malignancy and therapeutic resistance across diverse cancer types. By providing a high‐resolution landscape of intratumoral heterogeneity, these technologies empower precise patient stratification, guide the development of enhanced ...

Introduction and Review of Techniques, Applications, and Limitations of Solid Phase Microextraction Method [PDF]

open access: yesتحقیقات نظام سلامت, 2023
Solid phase microextraction (SPME) is a sub-sample extraction method that has been developed to solve some of the challenges associated with sample preparation as well as to integrate different stages of analysis into one system.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Effects of forest structure on litter production, soil chemical composition and litter-soil interactions

open access: yesActa Botânica Brasílica, 2016
Litter production in forest ecosystems is a major indicator of primary productivity because litter helps incorporate carbon and nutrients from plants into the soil and is directly involved in plant-soil interactions.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust: Decomposition in the Desert [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Decomposition, the process of breaking down organic material into its increasingly finer physical and chemical constituents, is an important component in the cycling of carbon and nutrients through an ecosystem.

Contactless Tracking of Decomposition in Self‐Reporting Ceramic Cr‐Al‐B Coatings

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces
Autonomous health tracking of coated components via electrical resistance measurements requires physical connections between coating and readout. Here, the proof of concept for contactless tracking of decomposition in autonomous self‐reporting Cr‐Al‐B ...

Clarifying associations between childhood adversity, social support, behavioral factors, and mental health, health, and well-being in adulthood: A population-based study

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2016
Previous studies have shown that socio-demographic factors, childhood socioeconomic status (CSES), childhood traumatic experiences (CTEs), social support and behavioural factors are associated with health and well-being in adulthood.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

A systematic approach to atomicity decomposition in Event-B [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Event-B is a state-based formal method that supports a refinement process in which an abstract model is elaborated towards an implementation in a step-wise manner.
