Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

SVD Algorithm in the Application of the MIMO System Model Order Reduction

open access: yesJournal of Harbin University of Science and Technology, 2017
For linear time invariant high-order system calculation and analysis model is difficult to directly,so we need to study on reduction of the model According to the basic theory of model order reduction Lyapunov equation model order solution to linear time

Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Fibre Reinforced Composites: Process, Characterisation, Modelling, and Sustainability

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

Relative-Error $CUR$ Matrix Decompositions [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications, 2008
Many data analysis applications deal with large matrices and involve approximating the matrix using a small number of ``components.'' Typically, these components are linear combinations of the rows and columns of the matrix, and are thus difficult to interpret in terms of the original features of the input data.

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Comparison of Matrix Decomposition in Null Space-Based LDA Method

open access: yesJurnal RESTI (Rekayasa Sistem dan Teknologi Informasi)
Problems with small sample sizes and high dimensionality are common in pattern recognition. Almost all machine learning algorithms degrade in high-dimensional data, so that singularities in the scatter matrices, the main problem of the Linear ...

Creep‐Induced Microstructural Evolution in an A2‐B2 Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A 27.3Ta‐27.3Mo‐27.3Ti‐8Cr‐10Al (at.%) refractory high‐entropy alloy with precipitation‐strengthened A2‐B2 microstructure was studied by creep tests at 1030°C, which demonstrate a transition in deformation mechanisms in the range of 100–150 MPa applied stress. This is associated with changes in dislocation–precipitate interactions. Relevant deformation

Sparse and Low-Rank Matrix Decompositions [PDF]

open access: yesIFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2009
Abstract Suppose we are given a matrix that is formed by adding an unknown sparse matrix to an unknown low-rank matrix. Our goal is to decompose the given matrix into its sparse and low-rank components. Such a problem arises in a number of applications in model and system identification, but obtaining an exact solution is NP-hard in general.

A Signal Subspace Speech Enhancement Approach Based on Joint Low-Rank and Sparse Matrix Decomposition

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2016
Subspace-based methods have been effectively used to estimate enhanced speech from noisy speech samples. In the traditional subspace approaches, a critical step is splitting of two invariant subspaces associated with signal and noise via subspace ...
