Research progress and current status of dynamic wave propagation characteristics in rock mass: A review

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This review elucidates the velocity–dispersion–attenuation coupling mechanisms of wave propagation in rock masses, compares six representative models, and reveals how pressure, temperature, mineral composition, and anisotropy jointly control dynamic responses in complex geological media.

Interventional therapies for chronic heart failure: An overview of recent developments

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1081-1094, April 2025.
Abstract Heart failure (HF), the final manifestation of most cardiovascular diseases, has become a major global health concern, affecting millions of individuals. Despite basic drug treatments, patients present with high morbidity and mortality rates. However, recent advancements in interventional therapy have shown promising results in improving the ...

Graded extent of hippocampal resection is related to neuropsychological outcomes in temporal lobe epilepsy surgery

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Surgical resection for epilepsy seeks to maximize seizure freedom while minimizing new neurocognitive impairments. Tailored resections guided by anatomoelectroclinical (AEC) hypotheses offer the possibility of sparing parts of the hippocampus.

Intracranial electroencephalographic approaches in the intensive care unit: Safety, feasibility, and coverage

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Nonconvulsive epileptic activity is common after acute brain injury and contributes to neuronal injury and poor outcomes. Although intracranial electroencephalography (iEEG) improves detection compared with surface EEG (suEEG), it currently relies on focal recordings of epileptic dynamics.

Research on Optimal Width of Coal Pillars in Both Sides of Abandoned Mining Areas and Tunnel Control Technology

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study primarily investigates the optimal width for coal pillar retention in both sides of the worked‐out face section. Taking the 42201 haulage roadway of the 42201 working face at Shengxin Coal Mine as the primary research target, it analyses the optimum width for coal pillar retention through theoretical calculations, numerical simulations, and ...

Eccentric exercise before a 90 min exposure at 24,000 ft increases decompression strain depending on body region but not total muscle mass recruited

open access: yesExperimental Physiology
Eccentric upper‐body exercise performed 24 h prior to high‐altitude decompression has previously been shown to aggravate venous gas emboli (VGE) load. Yet, it is unclear whether increasing the muscle mass recruited (i.e., upper vs.

Overcoming Cell Fixture Challenges in High‐Pressure Operation of Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Accurate application of high uniaxial pressure remains a limiting factor in large‐format solid‐state battery testing. A spring‐loaded fixture employing deflection‐based pressurization enables precise, homogeneous, and reproducible pressure application without expensive in‐fixture sensors, providing a robust framework for systematic investigation of ...
