Differentiated approach to the treatment of patients with fractures of lower thoracic and lumbar vertebral bodies and traumatic spinal stenosis

open access: yesХирургия позвоночника, 2016
Objective. To analyze clinical effectiveness of repositioning decompression of the dural sac and to justify a differentiated ap- proach to the decompression for traumatic spinal stenosis caused by damages of lower thoracic and lumbar vertebral bodies ...

Pressure‐Induced Structural and Optoelectronic Modulations in 2D Dion‐Jacobson Hybrid Lead Iodide Perovskites With a Rigid Spacer

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Compression to ≈2.0 GPa results in a non‐monotonic enhancement of the Pb‐I bond distortion, rarely observed in other 2D lead‐iodide hybrid perovskites. The octahedral distortion together with the rigidity of spacer cation are found to play a dominant role in determining the optoelectronic properties of DPDAPbI4 under high pressure.

Evaluation of posterior decompressive lumbar surgery for multilevel lumbar spinal canal stenosis with and without fusion

open access: yesJournal of Medicine in Scientific Research, 2021
Background There is no consensus regarding the best treatment of patients with multilevel lumbar stenosis. Surgical and invasive procedures are widely used in adults with degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis when conservative treatments fail.

Uniportal Endoscopic Lumbar Interbody Fusion [PDF]

open access: yesNeurospine, 2020
The cause of radiculopathy is the compression of the nerve root which can be secondary to sliding of the vertebra and reduced disc height. In some patients, decompression alone does not resolve this problem.

Complications of Decompressive Craniectomy [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2018
Decompressive craniectomy (DC) has become the definitive surgical procedure to manage medically intractable rise in intracranial pressure due to stroke and traumatic brain injury. With incoming evidence from recent multi-centric randomized controlled trials to support its use, we could expect a significant rise in the number of patients who undergo ...

Quenchable Amorphous Diamond: A Novel High‐Pressure Route to Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, EarlyView.
This study predicts the high‐pressure transformation of amorphous graphite into an sp3‐rich amorphous diamond phase using ab initio molecular dynamics. A first‐order transition is expected to occur ≈33 GPa in experiments, offering a novel synthesis route for sp3‐bonded amorphous carbon.

A Complementarity‐Based Approach to De Novo Binder Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel method for surface complementarity detection (HECTOR) enables highly efficient docking and design of protein interfaces. Applied to therapeutically relevant targets, this method yields de novo binders with potent antagonistic activity. As a first‐principles approach, HECTOR offers a training‐free solution to the binder design problem and is ...

Three-Dimensional Volumetric Changes and Clinical Outcomes after Decompression with DIAM™ Implantation in Patients with Degenerative Lumbar Spine Diseases

open access: yesMedicina, 2020
Background and objectives: The prevalence of degenerative lumbar spine diseases has increased. In addition to standard lumbar decompression and/or fusion techniques, implantation of interspinous process devices (IPDs) can provide clinical benefits in ...
