Deconstruction subtitled – Subtitling deconstructed

open access: yesBabel. Revue internationale de la traduction / International Journal of Translation, 2018
Abstract Derrida revealed the fallacy that it is possible to distinguish between reality, thinking and language; a fallacy constructed by Plato and transmitted through Western philosophy. Furthermore, this belief has been the foundation stone of translation studies, creating a concept of ...

Suppression of Photo‐Mediated Traps in Integrated Organic Photovoltaic–Photodetector Devices via N‐Type Self‐Assembly‐Driven Interfacial Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conventional unstable electron transport layers (ETLs) limit self‐powered organic sensors. This work resolves this by developing a n‐type self‐assembled monolayer (SAM), “3‐PAPh”. This SAM forms a chemically stable and structurally ordered interface that fundamentally suppresses defect formation.

Design for Deconstruction in the Design Process: State of the Art

open access: yesBuildings, 2018
Stricter building regulations have resulted in the construction of buildings with a low energy use during the operation phase. It has now become increasingly important to also look at the embodied energy, because it might, over the lifespan of the ...

Microstate solutions from black hole deconstruction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We present a new family of asymptotic AdS_3 x S^2 solutions to eleven dimensional supergravity compactified on a Calabi-Yau threefold. They originate from the backreaction of S^2-wrapped M2-branes, which play a central role in the deconstruction proposal

BIM for Deconstruction: An Interpretive Structural Model of Factors Influencing Implementation

open access: yesBuildings, 2021
Transitioning from demolition to deconstruction practices for end-of-life performances is gaining increasing attention following the need for the construction industry to minimise construction and demolition waste.

Nanotherapies for Atherosclerosis: Targeting, Catalysis, and Energy Transduction

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Atherosclerosis management is hindered by poor drug targeting and plaque heterogeneity. Nanotechnology overcomes these barriers via three core strategies: (1) target‐engineered nanocarriers that achieve lesion‐specific precision via ligand modification, biomimetic camouflage, stimuli‐responsive release, and self‐propelling nanomotors; (2) catalytic ...

An Engineered Laccase from Fomitiporia mediterranea Accelerates Lignocellulose Degradation

open access: yesBiomolecules
Laccases from white-rot fungi catalyze lignin depolymerization, a critical first step to upgrading lignin to valuable biodiesel fuels and chemicals. In this study, a wildtype laccase from the basidiomycete Fomitiporia mediterranea (Fom_lac) and a variant

Deconstruction and Gauge Theories in AdS_5 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
On a slice of AdS_5, despite having a dimensionful coupling, gauge theories can exhibit logarithmic dependence on scale. In this paper, we utilize deconstruction to analyze the scaling behavior of the theory, both above and below the AdS curvature scale,

Design for Deconstruction Using Integrated Lean Principles and BIM Approach

open access: yesSustainability, 2021
Existing buildings are characterized by the continuous change in the functional requirements of their end-users. As such, they are subjected to renovation or reconstruction, which is associated with total or partial demolition of the buildings, leading ...

Bacteria‐Responsive Nanostructured Drug Delivery Systems for Targeted Antimicrobial Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bacteria‐responsive nanocarriers are designed to release antimicrobials only in the presence of infection‐specific cues. This selective activation ensures drug release precisely at the site of infection, avoiding premature or indiscriminate release, and enhancing efficacy.
