Homo Memorabiliaxis: Souvenirs and the Evolution of Autobiographical Memory and Self

open access: yesEvolutionary Anthropology: Issues, News, and Reviews, Volume 35, Issue 4, December 2026.
ABSTRACT Humans routinely keep souvenirs objects retained for the memories they evoke, yet the evolutionary and cognitive consequences of mnemonic collecting remain unclear. Existing discussions of curated objects concentrate on later prehistory and modern humans and view such objects at the social level, as carriers of shared cultural meaning or as ...

Maximizing Neurovascular Outcomes of Facial Transplantation: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesClinical Anatomy, Volume 39, Issue 8, Page 965-979, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Facial transplantation is a division of reconstructive surgery which aims to improve the function and appearance of a face that has endured severe disfigurement. Currently, the face transplant procedure uses allogenic tissue, harvested from a brain‐dead donor, to replace damaged facial components.

Interaction With Surface Spins as a Contribution to Nuclear Magnetic Relaxation of Liquids Adsorbed in Mesoporous Materials

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Chemistry, Volume 64, Issue 11, Page 917-929, November 2026.
Liquids at silica interfaces experience demixing as a consequence of their respective polarity. The distribution of liquids and their primary relaxation contributions are studied by surface modification with OD and radical moieties, respectively. ABSTRACT NMR relaxation of liquids in the presence of solid interfaces, such as silica gel or porous glass,

An Overview of the Rock Art of AlUla: Tracing Changes in Content and Form Across 12,000 Years of Human History

open access: yesArabian Archaeology and Epigraphy, Volume 37, Issue 1, Page 43-69, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Between 2018 and 2021, the Identification and Documentation of Immovable Heritage Assets (IDIHA) Project recorded over 19,000 rock art panels in the AlUla (al‐‘Ulā) region of north‐western Saudi Arabia. This study presents a chronological assessment of the corpus, drawing on superimpositions, datable motifs, inscriptions, and varnish formation,

Between the Indian Ocean and the Gulf: Ceramics From Ḥattā Oasis in the Emirate of Dubai

open access: yesArabian Archaeology and Epigraphy, Volume 37, Issue 1, Page 258-296, November 2026.
ABSTRACT This study presents the ceramic finds from archaeological investigations conducted in 2024 at two settlements: ‘Islamic Village' and Suhaila 2, one of a number of mountain villages of the Late Islamic period within the Ḥattā Oasis: a high‐altitude exclave in the Emirate of Dubai. The sites are located on the northeastern slopes of Jabal Qallāt

Investigating Postseismic Creep in the Laboratory: Testing Dislocation‐Based Models for Transient Creep in the Upper Mantle

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 20, 28 October 2026.
Abstract Studies of postseismic creep often infer a strong reduction in upper‐mantle viscosity after large earthquakes, yet the microphysical mechanism responsible for this behavior remains subject of debate. Here, we present new gas‐medium apparatus experiments at 1100–1200°C on pre‐dried, annealed Åheim dunite (grain size of 400 μ ${\upmu }$m ...

Re‐evaluation of a soft crested Edmontosaurin, with implications for hadrosaurid life appearance and diversity

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 309, Issue 10, Page 2636-2655, October 2026.
Abstract Hadrosaurid dinosaurs are generally regarded as “crested” or “non‐crested” depending on the presence or absence of a bony cranial crest. At least one supposedly “non‐crested” hadrosaur is known to have possessed a soft tissue cranial crest (or comb), based on an exceptionally preserved “mummified” specimen. Here we redescribe this specimen and

Effects of Freeze‐Drying, Hot‐Air Drying, and Thermal Treatment on Physicochemical and Bioactive Properties of Domat and Gemlik Olive Seeds

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 10, October 2026.
Processing conditions significantly affect the nutritional, mineral, phenolic, antioxidant, and color properties of Domat and Gemlik olive seeds. Freeze‐drying better preserves minerals, while thermal treatment enhances gallic acid and 3‐hydroxytyrosol in Domat seeds.
