Toward understanding characteristics of dedicated short range communications (DSRC) from a perspective of vehicular network engineers

Proceedings of the sixteenth annual international conference on Mobile computing and networking, 2010
IEEE 802.11p-based Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC) is considered a promising wireless technology for enhancing transportation safety and improving highway efficiency. Here, using a large set of empirical measurement data taken in a rich variety of realistic driving environments, we attempt to characterize communication properties of DSRC as

A traffic speed enforcement system for high speed environment based on Dedicated Short-Range Communications (DSRC) technology

16th International IEEE Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC 2013), 2013
The IEEE 1609 and 802.11p protocol family (also known as WAVE/DSRC or DSRC network) developed by IEEE are key wireless technologies for time-critical safety message broadcast in Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs). The WAVE/DSRC network removes the layer-2 association procedure and thus greatly differs from traditional WiFi technologies.

An Analysis of Differences between the Evolving United States and European Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC) Systems

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2007
<div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper will present differences between Vehicle-to-Vehicle and Vehicle-to-Roadside communication systems evolving in North America and in Europe. Over the past years, the United States has allocated a frequency band to support such communications while European governments have funded many research programs but
