Hydrodynamic lubrication of deep drawing
2020An isoviscous steady hydrodynamic lubrication model for a deep drawing process is developed. Equations to calculate lubricant film thickness, radial, and drawing stresses are presented. The die inlet film thickness is related to the properties of the lubricant and the sheet metal, the tooling geometry and the operating conditions.

Deep Drawing with Hydrodynamic Lubrication
1984A modified Deep Drawing process is proposed which eliminates dry friction by hydrodynamic flow. In principal, this process enables an increase in the Limit Drawing Ratio (LDR) by virtue of relaxing interfacial constrains. The fluid is enforced to lift up the blank from the die and to stream radially beneath it in a narrow gap.
