A Method for Evaluating the Methane Content of the Nanoscale Pores in Deep Coalbeds

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2021
Since the sampling depth is large in deep coalbed methane wells, during the lifting process of coalbed cores, the core surface pressure drops nonlinearly with time, which is contradictory to the premise of the conventional United States Bureau of Mines (USBM) method and the Smith-Williams method.

Coalbed methane content prediction using deep belief network

Interpretation, 2020
Abstract Accurate measurement of coalbed methane (CBM) content is the foundation for CBM resource exploration and development. Machine-learning techniques can help address CBM content prediction tasks. Due to the small amount of actual measurement data and the shallow model structure, however, the results from traditional machine ...

Deep Coalbed Methane Reservoir Stimulation Technology In Shenfu Block

International Petroleum Technology Conference
Abstract With the continuous deepening of exploration and development, the availability of medium and shallow coalbed methane sources for scale benefit development is decreasing, and the coalbed methane exploration field in China has gradually changed from shallow to deep.

Simulation of Deep-Coalbed-Methane Permeability and Production Assuming Variable Pore-Volume Compressibility

Journal of Canadian Petroleum Technology, 2010
Summary One of the horizons of interest for future unconventional-resource development is deep- (> 5,000 ft) coalbed-methane (CBM) production. Unfortunately, coal permeability is highly sensitive to changes in stress, leading to the belief of limited permeability in deep coals.

Coalbed methane content prediction based on deep belief network

Coalbed methane (CBM) is considered an unconventional gas resource. Accurate determination of CBM content can provide potential disaster warnings and guide exploration and development. Direct measurement and statistical analysis of CBM content are common techniques.

Study on Evaluation System for Coalbed Methane from Deep Coal Seams in China

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
In this study, data from 244 CBM production wells were collected and analyzed in China. Based on the data, coalbed methane (CBM) reservoir properties and geological factors were studied. Combined with previous study results, the current situation of CBM resource evaluation, the classification of evaluation indexes and evaluation standard were analyzed.
