Effect of Deep-Cryogenic Treatment on High Speed Steel Properties

Materials and Manufacturing Processes, 2009
Advantages of deep-cryogenic treatment over standard heat treatment of high speed steels for the purpose of obtaining better exploitation properties are quoted in an increasing number of scientific papers to be found in literature. This paper deals with the most important improvements of high speed steel properties achieved by using deep-cryogenic ...

The Expanded Application Research of Deep Cryogenic Treatment

2009 International Conference on Measuring Technology and Mechatronics Automation, 2009
By using the cryogenic treatment (deep cryogenic treatment) to metal materials, the mechanical properties of metal materials could be improved, as well as the wear-resisting property could greatly increase. Along with deeper research of this public method, the method of expanded technology application could be brought up and the efficiency could be ...

Influence of deep cryogenic treatment on the thermal decomposition of Fe–C martensite

Journal of Materials Science, 2014
The beneficial effects of deep cryogenic treatment (DCT) at temperatures close to −180 °C on certain mechanical properties of steels are well known, although the metallurgical base mechanism of DCT still needs further clarification. In this study, the thermal decomposition of steel martensite (100Cr6) subjected to low-temperature soaking over different

Fatigue Focused Optimization of Treatment Parameters – A Case Study about Deep Cryogenic Treatment

Key Engineering Materials, 2011
The problem of treatment parameter optimization focused on the fatigue resistance is analysed through a case study about Deep Cryogenic Treatment (DCT) of AISI 302 steel. In particular, the possibility to integrate fatigue data fittings through the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) method in the optimization process is evaluated.

Effect of Deep Cryogenic Treatment on the Microstructure of an Aerospace Aluminum Alloy

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
This paper describes how deep cryogenic treatment at 98K produces changes in the microstructure of a heat-treated aluminum alloy. It was observed how the sub-micrometric particles increased near and at the grain boundaries. This slight precipitation did not produce any modification in static mechanical properties.

Influence of deep cryogenic treatment on heat treatment of steel and Cu–Be alloy

International Heat Treatment and Surface Engineering, 2010
AbstractDeep cryogenic treatment (DCT) is claimed to be an efficient technique to improve the properties of steels and non ferrous alloys. A lot of benefits related to this treatment are reported in the scientific literature and probably even more in Internet.

INFLUENCE OF DEEP CRYOGENIC TREATMENT ON MICROSTRUCTURE OF ADI

2012
Application of deep cryogenic treatment in heat treatment processes of different types of steel showed significant influence on their mechanical and tribological properties. A lot of research on that field has been performed also on other kinds of material such as hard metal, grey cast iron, aluminum and aluminum alloys, etc. In this research influence

Effects on corrosion resistance of rebar subjected to deep cryogenic treatment

Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology, 2017
An attempt has been made to evaluate the effect of deep cryogenic treatment on the corrosion resistance of rebar. Corrosion behavior of samples subjected to deep cryogenic treatment and samples tempered after deep cryogenic treatment was studied by linear polarization method.

Effect of Deep Cryogenic Treatment on AISI H13 Tool Steel

Heat Treating Conference, 2015
Abstract In the recent years, there has been a remarkable increase in the use of deep cryogenic treatment (DCT) for enhancing performance of tool steels. It is a supplementary treatment where components are treated below subzero temperatures for several cryo-soaking hours.
