Transendocardial injection of expanded autologous CD34+ cells after myocardial infarction: Design of the EXCELLENT trial

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1455-1463, April 2025.
Abstract Aims The extent of irreversible cardiomyocyte necrosis after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is a major determinant of residual left ventricular (LV) function and clinical outcome. Cell therapy based on CD34+ cells has emerged as an option to help repair the myocardium and to improve outcomes.

Implantable electrochemical sensors for continuous blood monitoring

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
Implantable electrochemical sensors enable direct, in situ, and continuous blood monitoring, shifting diagnosis from population‐based averages to dynamic, individualized analysis. This review systematically examines the influence of the unique blood properties on sensor design.

A ruptured giant femoral artery aneurysm presents as DVT

open access: yesAnnals of Vascular Surgery - Brief Reports and Innovations
Femoral artery aneurysm and rupture are rare. Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) from compression typically aids in detection, yet this aneurysm evaded ultrasound.

A rare case of perineal neuralgia treated with ultrasound‐guided nerve block combined with water separation

open access: yesIbrain, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 106-111, Spring 2025.
A middle‐aged man presented with a right indirect inguinal hernia in November 2020 and underwent laparoscopic high ligation of the right hernial sac. Intermittent acupuncture‐like pain in the skin of the right scrotum and medial thigh occurred 1 month after surgery and lasted for 6 months. Under ultrasound guidance, ilioinguinal nerve and genitofemoral

Applied surgical anatomical approach to pudendal nerve: Step‐by‐step key neurovascular structures for pelvic nerve surgery

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To define and demonstrate a step‐by‐step surgical anatomical approach to pudendal nerve dissection using female cadavers, focusing on the identification of safe roadmap and key neurovascular structures to optimize pelvic nerve surgery.

A novel bailout technique using myocardial biopsy forceps to grasp a dislodged angio-seal collagen with footplate

open access: yesCVIR Endovascular
Background Hemostatic devices are now frequently used in femoral artery punctures, and the Angio-Seal (Terumo, Tokyo, Japan) is one of the most commonly used devices for closure of the femoral artery because it provides rapid hemostasis.

Fetal growth trajectories and neonatal outcomes: A French population‐based study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective This study assesses whether fetal growth trajectories are associated with neonatal outcomes. Methods The study population included 8537 singleton liveborn infants from the 2021 French National Perinatal Survey. Fetal growth trajectories were assessed between second and third trimester routine ultrasounds and between the third ...

Macrophage extracellular vesicles deliver Mef2d proteins to aggravate Bacteroides fragilis pathogenicity in type 2 diabetes arterial calcification

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Bacteroides fragilis is associated with type 2 diabetes (T2D) arterial calcification and can be activated by macrophage‐derived extracellular vesicles (EVs). BF takes up EVs via receptor‐mediated endocytosis, and activation is induced by EV‐derived Mef2d, thereby inhibiting ArsR family transcriptional regulator transcription.
