The Physics of Deep Inelastic Scattering at HERA [PDF]

open access: yesCollective Motion and Phase Transitions in Nuclear Systems, 2007
In this paper an introduction to the physics of deep-inelastic scattering is given together with an account of some of the most recent results on the proton structure obtained in electron-- and positron--proton collisions at the HERA collider.

Deep Inelastic Scattering

open access: yes, 1995
In Sect. 5.5 we discussed the spectra observed in electron scattering off nuclei. As well as the elastic scattering peak some additional peaks, which we associated with nuclear excitations, were observed. Similar spectra are observed for electron-nucleon scattering.

Deep inelastic scattering in conformal QCD [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2010
We consider the Regge limit of a CFT correlation function of two vector and two scalar operators, as appropriate to study small-x deep inelastic scattering in N=4 SYM or in QCD assuming approximate conformal symmetry. After clarifying the nature of the Regge limit for a CFT correlator, we use its conformal partial wave expansion to obtain an impact ...

Confinement and scaling in deep inelastic scattering [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 1995
We show that parton confinement in the final state generates large $1/Q^2$ corrections to Bjorken scaling, thus leaving less room for the logarithmic corrections. In particular, the $x$-scaling violations at large $x$ are entirely described in terms of power corrections.

Isolated Photons in Deep Inelastic Scattering [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2006
Photon radiation at large transverse momenta at colliders is a detailed probe of hard interaction dynamics. The isolated photon production cross section in deep inelastic scattering was measured recently by the ZEUS experiment, and found to be considerably larger than theoretical predictions obtained with widely used event generators.

Pion fluctuation in deep inelastic scattering [PDF]

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal A, 2006
The forward neutron production in the ep collisions at 300 GeV measured by H1 and ZEUS Collaborations at DESY has been used to estimate the total probability for proton fluctuation into n pi^+ and p pi^0. The probability found is on the order of 30%.

Extraction of polarized parton densities from polarized DIS and SIDIS

open access: yes, 2005
We present results on the quark and gluon polarization in the nucleon obtained in a combined next to leading order analysis to the available inclusive and semi-inclusive polarized deep inelastic scattering data.Comment: Talk given at XIII International ...
