TECTB Variants Reveal Tectorial Membrane Vulnerability in Dominant Non‐Syndromic Hearing Loss
TECTB is a non‐collagenous protein of the tectorial membrane – an extracellular matrix of the cochlea. This study identifies dominant missense variants in TECTB linked to human hereditary deafness in two unrelated families. Genetically engineered mice homozygous for one of the variants are profoundly deaf, whereas heterozygous mice have normal hearing ...

In the post‐stroke brain, Foxa2 induces the transcriptional upregulation of Nrsn1 in NSCs. Nrsn1 functionally couples with Smarcc1, modulating its nuclear availability and protein abundance, thereby influencing Smarcc1‐associated regulatory programs linked to neuronal lineage commitment. Through this coupling, Nrsn1 promotes the differentiation of NSCs

SOX2 upregulates KAT7 in glioma stem cells, where KAT7 deposits H3K14 acetylation at the RAC2 promoter to activate RAC2 transcription. RAC2‐GTP subsequently promotes PAK1/2/3 phosphorylation, increasing tricarboxylic acid cycle flux and mitochondrial respiration to support glioblastoma malignancy.

During pancreatitis, IL‐1α is released from necrotic acinar cells. In response to IL‐1α, pancreatic fibroblasts release chemokines and cytokines that regulate the recruitment of immune cells to the damaged organ. Furthermore, IL‐1α primes fibroblasts, resulting in increased tissue fibrosis during chronic pancreatitis.

Leveraging Microphysiological Systems to Facilitate Neutrophil‐Based Cancer Immunotherapy
Microphysiological systems are emerging as powerful human‐relevant platforms for studying neutrophil biology in cancer. Current applications of spheroids, organoids, and organ‐on‐a‐chip models are reviewed, together with future opportunities in behaviorome profiling, multi‐omics integration, personalized medicine, immune crosstalk, and multi‐organ ...

Using genetic code expansion, we engineered vascularized human cerebral organoids (vhCOs) with microglia‐like cells and blood‐brain barrier features. vhCOs recapitulate neurovascular interactions, regional identities, and neuronal subtypes resembling the fetal brain.

Deep neck infection in elderly patients. A single institution experience (2000-2004).
BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Immunosenescence, the age-related decline in immunologic function in healthy individuals, seems to contribute to increased susceptibility to bacterial infections in the elderly population.

An Injectable, Self‐Expanding Hemostatic Foam for Field‐Compatible Postpartum Hemorrhage Management
Postpartum hemorrhage is the leading cause of maternal death worldwide, yet many treatments are hard to use outside well‐equipped hospitals. This work introduces an easy‐to‐use device that rapidly delivers a degradable foam into the uterus. The foam stops bleeding through pressure and clotting support, offering a practical option for low‐resource ...
