EMG‐Driven Telemetry and Inference System for Fish: Pose Reconstruction and Flow Sensing
This work introduces an electromyography (EMG)‐driven telemetry framework that reconstructs body pose and infers hydrodynamic conditions in freely swimming fish. A custom 16‐channel archival system records intramuscular EMG, enabling deep‐learning models to decode joint kinematics, classify flow regimes, and reveal channel‐efficient sensing strategies.

Visit to An Ocean Planet: Salinity and Deep Ocean Currents [PDF]
This resource uses text, images, maps and a laboratory exercise to explain how differences in the temperature and salinity of ocean water cause the formation of deep-ocean currents.

PPO‐Based Reinforcement Learning for the Semi‐Active Vibration Control of MDOF Platform
ABSTRACT Aiming at the coupled vibration problem of a multi‐degree‐of‐freedom (MDOF) vibration isolation platform under eccentric excitation, this paper proposes a semi‐active vibration control strategy based on Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) ‐based reinforcement learning (PPO RL).

Three-layer circulation in the world deepest hadal trench
The Challenger Deep (CD) is the deepest known hadal trench in the world. Due to challenges in data sampling at extreme ocean depths, the Lower Circumpolar Deep Water (LCDW) transport and ocean circulation structure in the CD remain unclear.

A similarity relation for the non-linear energy-transfer in a finite-depth gravity-wave spectrum
The energy transfer in a finite-depth gravity-wave spectrum is investigated in the approximation of a narrow spectrum. It is shown that for ocean depths larger than approximately one tenth of the wavelength (kh [ges ] 0·7) the finite-depth case can be ...

Abstract Premise We examined the African arid corridor (AAC) disjunction pattern of vascular plants between northeastern and southwestern Africa in the context of geological and climatic events since the late Miocene. We developed a phylogenetic and biogeographical framework for the arid‐adapted genus Sesamothamnus (Pedaliaceae), a classic example of ...

Oceanic eddy with submesoscale edge drives intense air-sea exchanges and beyond
Oceanic mesoscale eddies influence air-sea interaction and atmosphere dynamics through ventilating heat and moisture upward. However, whether the sea surface temperature (SST) gradient on the eddy edge could affect the heat and moisture release is still ...

Expanding demand for precious, rare earth, and other minerals has reinvigorated interest in mining the deep abyssal seafloor for polymetallic (manganese or ferromanganese) nodules, hydrothermal vents for polymetallic sulfides, and seamounts for cobalt-rich crusts, raising questions regarding the environmental sustainability of such activities.
