Spin‐Selective Anti‐Perovskite Enables Breakthrough Nitrate‐to‐Ammonia Electrocatalysis
CuNCo3 antiperovskite leverages built‐in 3d–3d interactions to stabilize and generate spin‐selective Co sites during nitrate reduction. Multiple operando techniques reveal that Cu acts as a promoter, inducing partial surface Co‐N cleavage and Cu‐Co charge redistribution.

Deep Sea Mining for Unique Biocatalysts
In this issue of Chemistry and Biology, Ferrer and coworkers describe the discovery of five esterases from a distinct deep sea hypersaline biotope. Interestingly, one enzyme has two unique features-it contains three active centers mediating distinct esterolytic activities, and its tertiary/quaternary structure can be modulated by environmental changes.

Using iPSC‐derived motoneurons and postmortem tissue from FUS‐ALS patients, it is demonstrated that increased mitochondrial transcription leads to elevated cytosolic double‐stranded RNA (dsRNA) levels. This aberrant accumulation activates a RIG‐I–dependent innate immune response leading to neurodegeneration, which is amenable for FDA‐ and EMA‐approved ...
