Integrated hydrologic and hydrodynamic modeling for flood hazard assessment in Ajay River Basin, West Bengal, India

open access: yesRiver, EarlyView.
Abstract The Ajay River, originating from the Chotanagpur Plateau (Bihar) and flowing through Jharkhand into West Bengal before merging with the Bhagirathi‐Hugli near Katwa, is among the most flood‐prone rivers in the region. Its lower reaches frequently experience rainfall‐induced flooding and embankment breaches during the mid‐ to late‐monsoon season.

The Hidden Harvest: Harnessing Colorado's Geodiversity and Environmental Heterogeneity for Sustainable Agritourism

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Colorado's geologic, pedologic, topographic, hydrological, and climatic contrasts create strong but under‐synthesized opportunities for sustainable agritourism. This review investigates how geodiversity, and the broader environmental heterogeneity within which it operates, can be used to diversify farm income, strengthen place‐based visitor ...

Effects of hydration on the mechanical properties of deep shale under true triaxial stress: A case study of Fuling shale gas in Sichuan Basin, SW China

open access: yesPetroleum Exploration and Development
This study takes shale samples from the Jiaoshiba block in the Fuling shale gas field of the Sichuan Basin, and uses the true triaxial testing system to conduct a series of mechanical experiments under deep shale reservoir conditions after shale ...

Who gets redeployed? Inventor characteristics and resource redeployment decisions

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary While the literature highlights the benefits of internally redeploying resources, there is less empirical guidance on which resources are most likely to be redeployed. We examine the relationship between inventor characteristics and redeployment decisions, motivated by the tension between costs and benefits of keeping a ...

Regulation, Taxation, and Resources: Unpacking Greenhouse Gas Emission Drivers Across G7 Economies

open access: yesThunderbird International Business Review, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Advanced economies are under growing pressure to downscale greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions without undermining growth, yet G7 (Group of Seven) nations, representing almost 10% of the world's population, still generate one quarter of global GHGs.

Integrated Alpha–Gamma Radiation Exposure From Natural Radionuclides in Cement and Gypsum Production: Implications for Occupational Lung Cancer Risk

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Natural radionuclides in cement and gypsum production materials pose significant risks of occupational radiation exposure that are not well documented in Iraqi Kurdistan. This study quantifies alpha and gamma radiation levels from naturally occurring radioactive materials, specifically 222Rn, 238U, 232Th, and 40K, in cement and gypsum samples ...

The Earliest Feathers from the Lower Cretaceous Dabeigou Formation of North Hebei: Implications for the Early Evolution of the Jehol Biota

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
This study reports two isolated feather fossils from the Lower Cretaceous Dabeigou Formation in northeastern China. Morphological analyses identified them as the earliest known feathered theropods (potentially including avian) in the Jehol Biota. This finding reveals a complex ecosystem at the dawn of the Jehol Biota, bridging the temporal and faunal ...

Multi-fractal characteristics of pore system in deep organic-rich shales of the Wufeng-Longmaxi formation in the Sichuan Basin and their geological significance

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The heterogeneity of pore system of deep shale reservoir determines the occurrence, enrichment and migration behavior of shale gas within shales. In this study, multi-fractal analysis was applied to analyze CO2 and N2 adsorption data for obtaining multi ...
