Deep Representation-Based Feature Extraction and Recovering for Finger-Vein Verification
Finger-vein biometrics has been extensively investigated for personal verification. Despite recent advances in finger-vein verification, current solutions completely depend on domain knowledge and still lack the robustness to extract finger-vein features

Supramolecular biomimetic nanoaggregates (HFCu NAs), constructed with fluorinated histidine and copper ions via metal coordination and aromatic packing, exhibit enhanced reactive oxygen species (ROS)generation at tumor sites, which results in stepwise collapse of the extracellular matrix (ECM), affording tumor microenvironment responsive “turn‐on” 19F ...

Background D-dimer testing to rule out deep vein thrombosis is less useful in older patients because of a lower specificity. An age-adjusted D-dimer cut-off value increased the proportion of older patients (>50 years) in whom pulmonary embolism could be ...

Non-destructive three-dimensional measurement of hand vein based on self-supervised network [PDF]
At present, supervised stereo methods based on deep neural network have achieved impressive results. However, in some scenarios, accurate three-dimensional labels are inaccessible for supervised training. In this paper, a self-supervised network is proposed for binocular disparity matching (SDMNet), which computes dense disparity maps from stereo image

Deep learning-driven pulmonary artery and vein segmentation reveals demography-associated vasculature anatomical differences [PDF]
Pulmonary artery-vein segmentation is crucial for disease diagnosis and surgical planning and is traditionally achieved by Computed Tomography Pulmonary Angiography (CTPA). However, concerns regarding adverse health effects from contrast agents used in CTPA have constrained its clinical utility.

The risk of thrombotic complications such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) during tumor development is well known. Tumors release into the circulation procoagulant microparticles (MPs) that can participate in thrombus formation following vessel injury.

Deep Learning Techniques for Hand Vein Biometrics: A Comprehensive Review [PDF]
Biometric authentication has garnered significant attention as a secure and efficient method of identity verification. Among the various modalities, hand vein biometrics, including finger vein, palm vein, and dorsal hand vein recognition, offer unique advantages due to their high accuracy, low susceptibility to forgery, and non-intrusiveness.

Intraoral Drug Delivery: Bridging the Gap Between Academic Research and Industrial Innovations
Intraoral drug delivery offers a promising route for systemic and localized therapies, yet challenges such as enzymatic degradation, limited permeability, and microbial interactions hinder efficacy. This figure highlights innovative strategies—mucoadhesive materials, enzyme inhibitors, and permeation enhancers—to overcome these barriers.
