Data stored outside Web pages and accessible from the Web, typically through HTML forms, consitute the so-called Deep Web. Such data are of great value, but difficult to query and search. We survey techniques to optimize query processing on the Deep Web, in a setting where data are represented in the relational model.

"Deep Web" refers to the rich information and data hidden in backend databases, etc., that search engines or Web crawlers cannot access. It is mostly accessible through manual query interfaces. This paper introduces the Semantic Deep Web, utilizing an ontology to determine relevance of query interface attributes to access the Deep Web.

The massive and diverse data sources on the Deep Web presents a serious data integration challenge. Existing virtual integration approaches suffer from slow query response, while surfacing approaches demand hefty storage space and incur huge costs in maintaining data freshness.

Web Crawler for Searching Deep Web Sites
2017 International Conference on Computing, Communication, Control and Automation (ICCUBEA), 2017In World Wide Web deep web searching is a most important issue till date. Searching relevant information on a web require different techniques. Crawler is a technique which will help to find out relevant information on web. Nowaday, humans are searching data with the help of search engines such as Google and Yahoo but these search engines will not ...

Finding information on the Web using a web search engine is one of the primary activities of today’s web users. For a majority of users results returned by conventional search engines are an essentially complete set of links to all pages on the Web relevant to their queries.

The term Deep Web appears again and again in various media and is often used synonymously with the term Dark Web. The two terms are usually associated with illegal activities such as drug trafficking or fraud, but the contents of the Deep Web and the Dark Web offer much more than criminal activities.

Our current understanding of Web structure is based on large graphs created by centralized crawlers and indexers. They obtain data almost exclusively from the so-called surface Web, which consists, loosely speaking, of interlinked HTML pages. The deep Web, by contrast, is information that is reachable over the Web, but that resides in databases; it is ...

Deep Web Mining through Web Services
2009With the increase in Web-based databases and dynamically- generated Web pages, the concept of the “deep Web” has arisen. The deep Web refers to Web content that, while it may be freely and publicly accessible, is stored, queried, and retrieved through a database and one or more search interfaces, rendering the Web content largely hidden from ...

The problem of extracting data that resides in the deep Web has become the center of many research efforts in the recent few years. The challenges in this research area are spanning from online databases discovery and forms extraction from query interfaces, to receiving structured queries from the user, submitting them automatically and retrieving ...
