Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome Virus (SFTSV) is a highly pathogenic tick-borne virus that causes hemorrhagic fever in humans, with a mortality rate of up to 30 %. SFTSV has been primarily detected in arachnid vectors, particularly Haemaphysalis longicornis.

The genus Bartonella consists at least 45 officially recognised species and three subspecies of gram-negative, intracellular bacteria that infect a wide range of mammalian hosts. Notably, 14 of these species have been associated with human diseases.
