An Application of Answer Set Programming to the Field of Second Language Acquisition

open access: yes, 2013
This paper explores the contributions of Answer Set Programming (ASP) to the study of an established theory from the field of Second Language Acquisition: Input Processing. The theory describes default strategies that learners of a second language use in

What Role Do Scope 3 Emissions Play in the Carbon Financial Performance Context? Evidence From Disentangling of Scopes 1, 2, and 3 Emission Performance Within the Science‐Based Targets Initiative Setting

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Former research has predominantly focused on Scope 1 and 2 emissions when examining the relationship between corporate carbon performance and corporate financial performance. This study investigates this relationship in greater detail by disentangling the financial relevance of Scopes 1, 2, and 3 emissions specifically for firms engaged in the

Forces et espaces : Maupassant, Borges, Hewingway

open access: yesCahiers de Narratologie, 2015
The aim of a cognitive narratology, as I see it, is to develop the literary and generally semiotic study of narratives through cognitive modeling, and to develop cognitive studies of mind and meaning by integrating insights from literary scholarship.

Radar-Derived Quantitative Precipitation Estimation Based on Precipitation Classification

open access: yesAdvances in Meteorology, 2016
A method for improving radar-derived quantitative precipitation estimation is proposed. Tropical vertical profiles of reflectivity (VPRs) are first determined from multiple VPRs.

Methods for Solving Necessary Equivalences [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Nonmonotonic Logics such as Autoepistemic Logic, Reflective Logic, and Default Logic, are usually defined in terms of set-theoretic fixed-point equations defined over deductively closed sets of sentences of First Order Logic.

Studying the Outcomes and Mechanisms of Carbocationic Rearrangements Using Algorithm‐Augmented Experimentation

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
HopCat, a hybrid algorithm combining rule‐based transformations with quantum‐informed kinetics, can be applied to acid‐catalyzed terpenoid rearrangements. In synergy with human chemists and nuclear magnetic resonance analysis, it facilitates product assignment, candidate selection, and reconstruction of complex mechanistic pathways.

A defeasible logic programming approach to the integration of rules and ontologies

open access: yesJournal of Computer Science and Technology, 2010
The Semantic Web is a vision of the current Web where resources have exact meaning assigned in terms of ontologies, thus enabling agents to reason about them.
