LAX phases: A family of novel stable layered materials, informatics‐based discovery

open access: yesInfoMat, EarlyView.
This research presents LAX phases, innovative layered materials from late transition metals, as alternatives to MAX phases. Using crystal structure prediction and machine learning, we identified 207 stable LAX systems with superior mechanical properties. These findings open pathways for LXene synthesis, promising advancements in catalysis and materials

Using Photovoice Methods to Set Research Priorities With Autistic People With Experience of an Eating Disorder

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Psychology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective(s) Autism and Autistic traits are heightened in individuals with eating disorders (EDs), with Autistic people reporting poorer treatment outcomes and experiences. Despite this, mechanisms of this overlap remain poorly understood, perhaps due to an exclusion of lived experience perspectives in setting research agendas.

The \u3cem\u3emir-51\u3c/em\u3e Family of MicroRNAs Functions in Diverse Regulatory Pathways in \u3cem\u3eCaenorhbditis elegans\u3c/em\u3e [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The mir-51 family of microRNAs (miRNAs) in C. elegans are part of the deeply conserved miR-99/100 family. While loss of all six family members (mir-51-56) in C. elegans results in embryonic lethality, loss of individual mir-51 family members results in a

Most \u3cem\u3eCaenorhabditis elegans\u3c/em\u3e MicroRNAs are Individually Not Essential for Development or Viability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
MicroRNAs (miRNAs), a large class of short noncoding RNAs found in many plants and animals, often act to post-transcriptionally inhibit gene expression. We report the generation of deletion mutations in 87 miRNA genes in Caenorhabditis elegans, expanding
