Detecting defects in texture

[1988 Proceedings] 9th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2003
A procedure is suggested for adaptive detection of texture imperfections in the presence of a slow spatial variation of the texture pattern. The results of initial experiments with the detector are reported as promising. The procedure seems to be efficient when the conventional one fails.

Defects and Their Detectability

1980
The Lang X-ray topographic method [1] has played a central role in the characterization of defects in crystals both in the as drown and processed state. Following its introduction and widespread use a large body of information has been gathered on the morphology and topology of defects.
