Effect of doping method on microstructural and defect profile of Sb–BaTiO3
Electrical properties in BaTiO3 based ceramics are strongly dependent on composition and microstructural development. In this work, we studied the effect of the particle coating as doping method on microstructure and electrical properties of Sb-doped ...

Oscillating elastic defects: competition and frustration
We consider a dynamical generalization of the Eshelby problem: the strain profile due to an inclusion or "defect" in an isotropic elastic medium. We show that the higher the oscillation frequency of the defect, the more localized is the strain field ...

Domain-wall melting in ultracold boson systems with holes and spin-flip defects [PDF]
Quantum magnetism is a fundamental phenomenon of nature. As of late, it has garnered a lot of interest because experiments with ultracold atomic gases in optical lattices could be used as a simulator for phenomena of magnetic systems.

Deposition-induced defect profiles in amorphous hydrogenated silicon [PDF]
The thickness dependence of the subgap optical absorption in plasma-deposited hydrogenated amorphous silicon is carefully studied by photothermal deflection spectroscopy. The deep-level defect concentration decays from the top surface into the bulk where it approaches the thermal equilibrium defect density.

An Analysis on Effect of Cold Rolled Austenite Stainless Steel Strip Width on Profile Shape
In corresponding with profile shape defect trouble about 1.2 mm x (250 ~ 380) mm strip of 301S and 301B cold rolled austenite stainless steel at steel works, the influence of change of strip width on profile shape during twelve-high mill rolling process (

One of the most efficient nondestructive methods for pipeline in-line inspection is magnetic flux leakage (MFL) inspection. Estimating the size of the defect from MFL signal is one of the key problems of MFL inspection.

The Landau-de Gennes theory of nematic liquid crystals:\ud Uniaxiality versus Biaxiality [PDF]
We study small energy solutions within the Landau-de Gennes theory for nematic liquid crystals, subject to Dirichlet boundary conditions. We consider two-dimensional and threedimensional domains separately and study the correspondence between Landau-de ...

One-Dimensional Partially Asymmetric Simple Exclusion Process on a Ring with a Defect Particle
The effect of a moving defect particle for the one-dimensional partially asymmetric simple exclusion process on a ring is considered. The current of the ordinary particles, the speed of the defect particle and the density profile of the ordinary ...

Continuous treatment with IL-15 exhausts human NK cells via a metabolic defect.
NK cell-based immunotherapies have been gaining traction in the clinic for treatment of cancer. IL-15 is currently being used in number of clinical trials to improve NK cell expansion and function. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of
