2D defected ground structures in microstrip line
2012 5th International Conference on Computers and Devices for Communication (CODEC), 2012In this paper, two-dimensional (2D) defected ground structures (DGS) are proposed in microstrip line. The dumbbell structure is added as a unit-cell in a systematic manner in both horizontal and vertical directions to construct the 2D-DGS. This technique best utilizes the area to get very low stop band frequencies.

Design of H-shape Defected Ground Structure
2020 IEEE International RF and Microwave Conference (RFM), 2020This paper presents the design of an H-shape defected ground structure (DGS). Full EM-wave simulation of the design was carried out by using the Computer Simulation Technology (CST) software. The influence of some DGS design parameters on the resonant frequency was simulated and studied.

Electrically small antenna with defected ground structure
2012 42nd European Microwave Conference, 2012In this paper, a dumbbell shaped defected ground structure (DGS) is proposed to suppress higher order harmonics of an electrically small antenna. A slot loading technique is applied to a well-know low-profile antenna, the area miniaturization of a semi circular microstrip patch antenna by inserting a number of slits parallel to the radiating edges, is ...

Multi-band antenna using defective ground structure
2015 International Conference on Communications and Signal Processing (ICCSP), 2015A multi-band antenna for Wi-Fi/WiMAX operation is proposed. Defected ground structure (DGS) is used in this antenna with a plus shape slot in fed line to get an increase in gain of antenna. The investigated antenna has a rectangular patch and two inverted L- shape strips. The designed antenna has substrate dimension of size 21×31, and operates over the

Compact four-band diplexer using defected ground structures
Frequenz, 2021Abstract In this paper, a novel four-band diplexer using defected ground structures with compact size, low insertion loss and high isolation is presented. To begin with, there are 16 defected ground stepped impedance resonators (DSIRs) controlling four passbands characteristics. Every four DSIRs can generate one passband.

Modeling of bandpass filter using defected ground structure and defected microstrip structure
Journal of Computational Electronics, 2013In this present work a novel concept for designing of tunable bandpass filter has been introduced with the help of end coupled microstrip transmission line, defected ground structure (DGS) and defected microstrip structure (DMS). Utilizing this concept, one bandpass filter of 8 GHz center frequency with 30 % fractional bandwidth (FBW) at ?3 dB has been

Quasi-static modeling of defected ground structure
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2006A quasi-static equivalent-circuit model of a dumbbell-shaped defected ground structure is developed. The equivalent-circuit model is derived from the equivalent inductance and capacitance developed due to the perturbed return current path on the ground and the narrow gap, respectively. The theory is validated against the commercial full-wave solver CST

Branch-Line Couplers Using Defected Ground Structure
IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2005In this letter, a novel design of a branch-line coupler with considerable reduction in its size and suppressed harmonic passband is proposed. By embedding a defected ground structure (DGS) unit cell under a microstrip line, compact branch-line couplers are easily achieved. The electrical length is scaled appropriately according to the slow-wave effect.

Miniaturized defected ground structure using lumped capacitor
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2009AbstractIn this letter, the miniaturized bandstop filter with lumped capacitor element is presented. The resonator is based on a stopband characteristic of U‐shaped defected ground structure (DGS) section. Lumped capacitor element is embedded into DGS section without altering the geometry.
