Influence of magnification on extraction efficiency in laser resonators with non-overlapping beams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The magnification and the Fresnel number determine the mode profile and losses in a bare unstable resonator. Upon inclusion of gain, both the beam pattern and the reflectivity are changed, more than in a stable cavity, because the counter-propagation ...

Power Relations in the Preparation of the Nondiscrimination Act: The Controversial Issue of Supervising Discrimination in Working Life

open access: yesEuropean Policy Analysis, Volume 12, Issue 1, Winter 2026.
ABSTRACT In the context of Europeanisation and neo‐corporatism, we examine the lengthy process of revising the Nondiscrimination Act in Finland, spanning from 2007 to 2023. Risks of Time and Chronology as an Underpinning Infrastructure for Critical Systems: Emerging Chronorisks and Chronosecurity Needs

open access: yesJournal of Critical Infrastructure Policy, Volume 7, Issue 1, Spring/Summer 2026.
ABSTRACT Time and chronology form the invisible architecture upon which modern civilization depends, governing synchronization across markets, power grids, communication networks, transportation, and defense. Yet, this shared temporal framework, engineered through atomic clocks, satellites, and digital synchronization, faces growing vulnerabilities ...

FTIR Microspectroscopy for the Analysis of Inflammatory and Immune Responses in Nasal Polyps Treated With Local Glucocorticoids

open access: yesJournal of Spectroscopy, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Introduction Rhinosinusitis is a significant health issue that parallels the increasing prevalence of allergic rhinitis. We aimed to investigate the biochemical, inflammatory, and immunological components involved in the topical glucocorticoid (GC) response in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) using Fourier transform infrared ...

Cyclosa Menge, 1866 (Araneidae) Orb‐Weavers Build Stabilimenta That Resemble Larger Spiders

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 11, November 2025.
The orb‐weaving spider Cyclosa longicauda from Peru constructs unique stabilimenta from detritus and silk that visually resemble a larger spider. This previously undescribed behavior likely functions as a sophisticated anti‐predator strategy, with the structure serving as a decoy to misdirect or repel attacks.
