Deficit Irrigation. I: Analytical Framework

Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, 1990
The economics of deficit irrigation are examined. The concepts developed in the heuristic discussion are developed into a set of rigorous mathematical expressions for determination of optimum water use under deficit irrigation. These expressions also can be used to estimate the range of water use within which deficit irrigation would be more profitable

Sorghum Yield Response to Deficit Irrigation

Transactions of the ASABE, 2012
Because dwindling water supplies are limiting crop production, a field study was conducted during 2005-2009 in southwest Kansas to determine the yield response of grain sorghum to irrigation and evapotranspiration (ETc) and to measure plant growth parameters and soil water use.

Corn Yield Response to Deficit Irrigation

World Environmental and Water Resources Congress 2011, 2011
Because dwindling water supplies are limiting crop production, a 5-year field study was conducted to determine the yield response of corn to irrigation and evapotranspiration (ETc). ETc and productivity (yield/ETc) significantly decreased as irrigation decreased. The deficit irrigation treatments were able to store more non-growing season precipitation

Deficit irrigation of sunflower under Mediterranean environmental conditions.

2007
This work aims at: analyzing response of sunflower crop to several irrigation water regimes and evaluating the suitability of sunflower to deficit irrigation strategies. An open-field trial on hybrid Sanbro_MR was carried out at experimental fields in Valenzano (Bari, Southern Italy), characterized by semi-arid Mediterranean climate and clay-loamy soil.
